Nice Vindicator... Or is it an Enforcer?

Don't look these two identical from the top side anyways?

As far as I know the Enforcer and Vindicator differ in their overall armament layout, shield strength and fighter carrying capacity, but not in physical appearance?

Well, in Legacy, the Vindicator was designed early in the Clone Wars to replace the aging Dreadnaught. It corresponded or led into the development of the Victory Star Destroyer. But it was very useful, lasting till the imperial civil war... The question in my mind is whether the Pentastar Alignments "Enforcer"-class were new ships based on the Vindicator design or refits of Vindicator with modern tech... And it is indeed a question how much they visually differ... The Impstar I and II were separated by at most 20 years of tech, likely less. And they have clear differences. I have a hard time imagining a Clone Wars Vindicator not differing in appearance from a similar design that is 30-50 years newer.

Huh?
Wookieepedia says the Vindicator was created first by the Empire (indeed to replace the Dreadnaught), but only years after the Clone Wars.
The Carrack Cruiser, VSD I, ISD I and even the Tector (the latter two in small numbers before birth of the Empire, the Tector even fewer than the ISD I) I've found, but no information on the Vindicator being used by the Republic Navy even in Legends sources.

I stand corrected. I don't know why I thought that was the case, I must have misread something, somewhere. In any case, I am still curious as to the actual differences between the Vindicator and the Enforcer.

Actually, been doing a little research, and found the "Vast Empire" wiki... While it seems to be a little sketch on sourcing at times, much of it's material seems intuitive. They have the Vindicator design, but with four variants. First there is the full-fighter-wing version that was initially unpopular with the admiralty, becoming called the Protector-class Escort carrier. From this design came the widespread Vindicator heavy cruiser refit with just two squadrons. Then eventually the development of the immobilizer cruiser, and then eventually the Enforcer-class picket ship with no squadrons. There seem to be other less common variants as well (such as troop transports, surveyors, etc).

What are those two small ships called? I like the look of them. Are they frigates or anti-starfighter ships?
