Experience dark winter as never before; this plugin adds a great island far north, until recently completely isolated from Tamrielic law. Now that the Imperials have arrived and colonized the island, complications with the local Nords are undeniably present and the area’s agitation is tangible.
2008 a year in review... Some new faces on the ModDB Staff helped to kick up a media storm, with Ryan and I taking over the editorial side of things leaving Scott and Mark to work behind the scenes. Both have done amazing things for the site including launching a new forum, detailed statistics, new video/audio/image support, HD and Levelling with many more secret projects being worked on as we speak. With a focus on the things that matter (mods) the staff were able to come up with some amazing content and features like the Spotlight, Developer Banter, Reviews, Previews, Interviews and even the Modcast and all of its experiments (MCL) throughout the year to help put the focus back on the teams that make the epic mods you all hold so close to your hearts. The year of Mod and Indie love is now over but we still keep the lessons we learned and the memories we made *sobs quietly*. So as a celebration of everything listed above here is the last Modcast of 2008, a 2 hour episode chocked full of puns, plugs, news and jokes that isn't suitable for mums to listen to. Enjoy my fellow modders and we will see you all next year!
This weeks forum question is all about your gaming new years resolution, have a game on your pile of shame that you want to finish? Do you have modding goals that you want to set? We want to know about them! To answer just post in this thread and the ModDB Crew will read your answers out next episode.
So that's it for this week modders, but don't fear we will be back next week with more mods and goss for you all to enjoy! Don't forget to send your modding/gaming questions to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will answer the questions on the show!
Since 2002 we have explored, played and enjoyed mods of all shapes and sizes just like Thorlak Island. We love games like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion that have opened themselves up to modding. Because of communities like Workshop, Nexus, Curse, RTSL, GameBanana and Mod DB, more games support modding today than ever before.
Let's celebrate modding
As mods play a bigger role in the future of gaming, we believe it is important to recognize the effort the teams behind the work put in, giving us countless hours of enjoyment while asking nothing in return. We have the power to change our games and that needs to be celebrated to ensure it remains a big part of PC gaming's future.
It all started
In 2015, when the paid modding dispute left many gamers and modders worried about the direction the industry is headed. Things have since settled down, but we believe it is important to continue this small tradition to show we are not alone in our love for mods, and the open platforms that embrace them.
Mod Appreciation Week
Nothing is more motivating than knowing something you've built is being enjoyed by others. So this week if there is a mod you love on Mod DB (or anywhere else), make the effort to shout out to them, mention and link their mod in a tweet, blog, forum or facebook post with the hashtag #modlove2016 (or click the icons above for a pre-built post).
