UPDATE on May 1th, 2013:

Thief - Natural Water Mod

---

I want to present some new water mods!
I think it´s a big step when we look at the last water mods.
It was a lot of work and i hope you like it.

The water mods are very different! Good for FM authors ;-)

There will be a setup tool where you can choose between the different water mods to use your favorite in-game!

Here are all demo videos that were released yet!

And remember:
Don´t wonder because the demo videos show also Thief 2 and T2X.
That´s only to demonstrate the mods!

And sorry for lags! That´s only when recording...

WATCH IN FULL HD!

The environments look TERRIFIC. I always dreaded seeing tiled floors in Thief, and you've made them look even louder - that's quite an achievement!

:-D

Yes this is really a big thing for Thief, as alot of people are still stuck in the past with this game and its sequel. I can see some people not being very enthusiastic, there are purists when it comes to changing the way Thief looks. But I would say the atmosphere is still the same, only the textures are now much more detailed. Something nice to look at is a big plus aslong as it fits the rest of the world imo.

Bentraxx,

I just wanted to commend you for offering up two options for the zombie-skins. That way, people who want to avoid the naked zombie can do so, while the rest of us will be able to use it.

I have to say Bentraxx, that you made a BELIEVER out of me. I was sitting on the fence in regards to creating super-realistic textures for this game, but you ARE doing a great job of making them work.

I still wish that there were higher poly meshes available for this level of craftsmanship, but I'll take whatever I can get, especially when it looks THIS professional.

Don't be surprised that when this endeavor is done that you're going to be besieged with requests to update all of the older-style custom textures people made for their amazing Thief missions.

The latest zombie skin IS it!

Yeah, nice work. Thank you for trying out my advice. No more Wal-Mart smiley effect on me at all, and the faces are just gruesome and terrifying.

NICE work!

The burrick and its environments are looking awesome too.

Remarkable work.

As excellent as the first two updates to the zombies were, this one is another significant improvement. I don't know how you keep doing it, and it impresses me again.

Adding the hideous "peeled back" gum-line and teeth heightened the sense of menace - YES!

The only thing that keeps catching me in a weird way are the two, nearly perfectly symmetrical "blood tracks" coming down from its eyes. In most of the shots, my first register of what I was seeing was of a bloody smiley face - a Wal-Mart type smiley face.

I'm confident that if you redirected the trails so that they didn't connect with the mouth the way it does now, that the "Wal-Mart effect" would be eliminated. Perhaps shortening one of the trails, so that it doesn't connect to the mouth, would also produce results that were also free of the Wal-Mart effect.

I'd also strengthen the presence of the nostril holes some more.

I feel that this skin is SO close to being done.

You are VERY good at showing the wet, underlying anatomy of areas that have been stripped or decayed-away of surface flesh. I'd play this card again, and I feel that it would be quite creepy to see some tissue removed from ONE of the eye sockets (perfect symmetry=beauty, while asymmetry pushes the opposite psychological effect), so that the lower eyelid is absent, so that we can see some of the inner workings of the eyeball system. I wouldn't extend this damage all the way down to the cheekbone, but I'd get somewhat close to it.

Here's a site that features a head-shaped cake that's designed to melt grotesquely. The author did a GREAT job on it, and if you look towards the bottom of the page, you'll see images that you might find inspiring in regards to depicting a stripped eye socket area: Doitmyself.org

If it's not too much of a chore, could you try these last few suggestions for us, and let us see the results?
