Darkness... My body hurts! Or is it my brain? The explosion! I remember it now. Maybe I'm in a coma? Or even worst, I may be already dead... Everything is so confusing... Zombies, monsters and ghosts from the past are filling my mind... Oh God, so many memories mixed with my dreams! I can't even distinguish them anymore. What if my entire life was just a nightmare? But it felt so real... Wait, what's that sweet voice? Sounds like a nurse! THAT is part of reality, I am sure. Now if I could just concentrate on this voice and try to wake up...
Another complete and utter waste of time.
I have yet to find a mod whose creator understands the concept of difficulty scaling. Once again: you have 10 million enemies (with infinite enemy spawning), a handful of medkits, no armor, a handful of bullets, and crackshot zombie marksmen.
Keep god mode on and be prepared to noclip on numerous occasions and you MIGHT find a measure of enjoyment from this garbage mod but then again, I doubt it.
At first I was pretty skeptical about this. I never really thought zombies were all that fun, and I am usually somewhat sensitive about good having graphics in the mods I play, especially if the game is long or tedious. However, this was just amazing. The graphics were excellent even with the limits of the engine. Everything in the mod, the voices, the tape players, the graphics, the lighting, the characters, the tons of custom models, they were all top notch quality. "They Hunger" took me through a huge world with a complete and interesting story. It was an extremely long adventure with dozens of maps, providing lots of unique areas in this world to find and hunt many kinds of zombies. The map design was very non-linear, which was kind of a good thing. But some of the areas that I ran back and forth through were so large that I got lost pretty easily. But that didn't stop me at all from enjoying it. This is one of those great mods that exceeded most of my expectations right away, and it would be cool to see a Source remake.
