A HD pack for the classic mod, They Hunger! This originally was a personal project (since there is already a HD pack released), but figured to release it in case of fire. Hope you all enjoy!

INSTALLATION :
- Install They Hunger and its patches as you would any other GoldSource based mod.
- Extract the contents of HungerRemod inside the Hunger mod folder.
- Overwrite everything.
- The mod adds simple detail texturing, if not activated yet, type "r_detailtextures 1" and its counterpart into the console.

OMG THANK YOU! I was looking for the perfect mod to go along with the coop mod i'm working on, now if someone could just tell me how to trigger a map change in multiplayer like what Zhouy managed to do in Opposing Force Coop.

What this really needs is the Sven Co-op Head spiders, other then that this looks pretty good man!
I did tried that, was even planning to rig HD models too on those.
Unfortunately, the original TH does not use submodels.
This means that every headcrab in TH would all be the same model, and would break immersion if there's more than a few at the same area.

There's also the thing where the animations would not fit the situation the headcrabs would find themselves in.

Same thing too with R1chard's baby headcrab, hence why i ditched it in the first place in favor of the one i used, among other reasons.
it's not that bad, people would just assume the spider crabs like eating people's crotches.
Nice to see how Sven Coop's release of their in-complete coop version of the game has re-sparked people to do sudden work on the original classic again btw :D
I've actually been working on these WAY before i ever played Sven's version of TH.
Now that i think of it, I never really bothered to play Sven Coop with anyone.
My internet speed was just too lousy to even compare.
Heheh well I can tell your not missing much, so far it's over-the-top challenging mayhem. It's suicide if you don't attempt each map with at least 5 people in-game at all times. None of their maps have 3-4 player easy run through's in mind. THEY EVEN ADDED HARDER ENEMIES TO EACH MAP THAT SHOULD NOT BE THERE. Sure 2 can do it, but it'll take a lot of respawning. Alien grunts throw snark grenades, Vortigant Slaves can revive other Vortigunts after death and to top it all off each alien takes A LOT more hits to kill. Ever since 4.0 the machine gun doesn't have a glauncher and only fires 30 rounds at a time etc. etc. Certainly better off playing my version of They Hunger coop if i can ever balance out the monster hitpoints of the monsters that already exist in the maps and get the map-change triggers to work that is. The biggest payoff, being able to use the extra 2 or 3 they hunger weapons Sven's mod still doesn't have.
Play the Sven Co-op They Hunger campaign. Things are a lot different now, except for enemies having a ton of HP. There's also a bunch of new weapons.
I just hope Sven does the right thing with this new "classic mode" that at least reverts the machine gun back to normal. With good fan reception he just might take it a bit further so that people can finally vote to play on a server with closer to original monster hitpoints and none of these added over-kill stunts some of them can pull off.
The tree models are stored in sprite files... what kind of black magic fuckery is this?
Well, i'm not exactly able to change the map files themselves.
So i went with the next best thing!
Rename the .mdl to .spr and you have the sprite replaced with a model ready to use.
Did the same thing for the snow trees in RIP too.
Not sure if one can use it in case one does not have access to model based entities like env_model...
I've tried renaming .mdl to .spr but it doesn't replace the sprite. Any way to make a .mdl file into a .spr file?

This is a great mod, although it really throws me off having a 1911 with a 17 round capacity magazine, but other than that it's perfect.
I don't know if it's the remod or the original TH code at fault, but the skyboxes are seriously buggy when played in the Xash3D engine. Most other mods, and most of your remods work fine. Any tips to improve it?

I was able to fix the issue with the skybox by adding the following line to my liblist.gam file
cldll "cl_dlls\client.dll"
However there are more various glitches in the mod that I wasn't able to fix

Great mod. The only problem with it is that the audio is so high quality that some sounds can cut off dialogue. A good example is at the beginning of chapter 2.
Wish there was an addon to change the Zombie version of the HGrunt to act like the ones from this Moddb.com that way they can be more zombie-ish instead of just being the same soldiers with zombie textures.

Interesting pack, but I think it goes a bit further than advertised at times. The models are good, the new sounds are good, but some of the ambient world sound effects changes are unnecessary. But it's definitely ambitious, it changes almost everything in the mod.
Biggest personal complaint is the blood- I don't like the blood sprites and decals this mod uses, they look too cartoony to me. But some people might like it.
Do I just install this as a mod or is this an addon ?
