I don't know why we so often end up releasing on Christmas. We don't usually plan it that way... or at least, not at first.

We've finally finished testing Sven Co-op 4.7, and now it's time for the rest of you to have a go. Spread the word!
In this release you are going to be seeing fewer crashes, fewer bugs, a decent amount of new features, and a new map.
Some of the more notable changes include:

  • New map: Quarter. In this map, the players must prevent a base from being overrun by enemies. Failing to defend an area forces the players to retreat further back into new areas.
  • Improved sentence handling: NPC's now use more sentences, mappers can specify their own sentences, and other improvements
  • Linux server binary now included
  • New console command called "stuck" allows players to get unstuck
  • Using the grenade warning automatically makes friendly NPC's seek cover
  • Spawn points are now randomly selected with no spawn fragging
  • On-line donor lookup: An online donor list now lets donors receive their bonus features without having to wait for the next release
  • trigger_load is now able to load data from other maps' save files, improving the ability to create map series where events in one map affect what happens in other maps.
  • New High-Definition remakes of HLDM player models
  • Bug fixed that prevented players from falling down when using the grapplegun.

Server ops: When running a 4.7 dedicated server, you must add "-num_edicts 3072" to your HLDS commandline or Launch Options.

4.7 has taken quite some time, probably more than it really should have, but we can assure you that we are not running out of Steam. Quite the opposite in fact. The next version, 5.0, is going to be a major stepping stone for the mod, and there are some very exciting improvements to the mod in the works. Keep in touch, as there's going to be some more info on the next version soon (in Sven Co-op time).

Remember, to play Sven Co-op you need to own Half-Life (NOT HL:Source). To play Opposing Force maps in Sven Co-op, you need to own Opposing Force. Both are currently on special.

I know right!?!, although the spider head's headcrab replaced models look OK to me sense it actually makes sense once you play twords the end of episode 2, but oh wait! sven never finished making they hunger episode 2 and 3, just like he never finished making opposing force coop or blue shift coop when he actually already had the mods made by other people and could just ask permission to use their work,but no...he's selfish, I rather make up my own coop mod using THE REAL they hunger and play it though, just like that guy who put forth the effort and made a simple coop mod for THE REAL blue shift and opposing force using THE REAL games, both steam and non steam version's multiplayer part of the games and setting them to CTF mode so you can be on the same side and still go against the npcs and have all the proper guns and animations working, while sven coop, still only has half of that stuff done, a couple new games and they hunger maps, but not quite has many has other can come up with fixed and working using THE REAL games of each of them

Clonest: Our apologies for selfishly spending thousands of man hours releasing stuff for free and thereby personally injuring you. (There are a lot of people on the Sven Co-op team, by the way -- not just me. See the Credits page of the manual).

Not sure of exactly what you're talking about regarding Blue Shift/OpFor, but the co-op mods released here on ModDB (8-9 years after SC) are not compatible with Sven Co-op, and so not of much help to us. If anyone wants to do a SC conversion of Blue Shift, that'd be great -- as for OpFor, Edman747 already has a beta working which will be included with SC4.1.

oh and about the OpFor beta....does that means it only going to be half the game again like they hunger....I thought it wasn't that hard...once you got someone who knows how to edit the spawn points to certian maps it shouldn't be that hard right??...and course take out some of the falling debris in some maps that may block another players way out and through the map

I'm so Sorry about that, I wasn't really expecting that you'd be able to reply to these things sense I really don't know any other fast way to contact you, but reaaally need to check with the guy that finally finished making the 2.0 versions of blue shift and opposing force coop and help him convert the maps over into finally being compatible with sven coop, it could save you a whole lot of work and have the project finished so there be no need for a sven coop 6.0, sense you know, where all waiting....any chance you could train me with the hammer editor and possibly join the team than? :D

This mod is actually Sven Coop. The "added" stuff was added for Sven Coop 4.0, and "They Hunger Co-Op" is really just the They Hunger maps converted for Sven Coop.
