Nice idea, few bugs here and there, especially annoying when forced to stay in place and listen to narration.

Overall, I'd say this is a shining example of Crysis modding. It's not the most original idea ever, nor is it executed extremely well. But ultimately, I'd definitely reccomend it.

It progresses extremely slowly, yeah. The slow movement controls aren't really an issue though, and I rarely found myself getting bored wandering around. Although, having said that, I did do it with my shift key pressed from beginning to end. Being stuck in place while it reads books out loud was quite annoying though, as was the slow first person cutscenes.

The story... Well... I personally couldn't follow it at all. Even having finished it, I can't make any sense of it. So my own reflection on it can only be the journey from beginning to end, which I do rate positively. TWON does a great job of setting the mood, and invoking a sense of paranoia with the suggestion that you're being stalked every step of the way.

I'll certainly be recommending this one to friends! :)

VERY good mod, I only have a few complaints. First, if you die (or get stuck somewhere) you have to go back to the beginning of the part you were on which is a pain. Second, getting stuck is a very real possability because of various rocks and such, so my advice is to stay on the beaten path. And last, but certaintly not least: the damn books disapear even if you die and restart. Which is a BIG problem for some parts where reading a book is necisary to continue i.e. *SPOILER ALERT* (ish) when you need to read the book in the cabin so that the board will fall and bust the door open. Hoverver, these minor problems are NO REASON to not install this beatifuly done mod, trust me the pros outweigh the cons. This mod features beatifuly rendered environments, and extremely intruiging story, true suspensful lovecraftian horror aspects, and a killer soundtrack that really sets the mood. In conclusion, definetly download this mod, but watch out for places you may get stuck and try not to die, as the ever important books do disapear. Cheers.

The start is amazing. The lighthouse, the port, the first words, the narrator and the level design. Wow! Very well crafted. I forgot it's a mod, not a commercial game.

The second part is another story. There are still some amazing sights (catacombs, newport under siege), but the flow and the story telling gets really annoing. Invisible (and visible) walls everywhere, killing any immersion and exploration. It's no longer a place I want to explore, it becomes a game, a track (of the same torches) I have to follow in order to advance. Unskippable audio logs, you can't move or do anything while listening to (you need 20s to read the text, but the sexy french voice - oh, she is sexy - needs 3 minutes to finish). Needless cutscenes (moving me without doing anything important) and too many narrative jumps. Why bring me to the dessert when there is nothing to see, except another text telling me about things you're not showing me?

I hope I'm not too harsh, but the first minutes were so amazing, they made the rest look pale in comparison.

Has potential but there's no clear direction through the maps - plus there are a few bugs which can ruin the game experience.

updated review ... as my issue was with the no-save feature of Crysis rather than the mod itself
