The Veiled Stars is a single player mod for Mount&Blade: Warband. It is set during the War of the Ring.
Finally I can reveal this week's work. The Haradrim. Work has been slower than usual as I've been raging and crying over the travesty of Rome II Total War, falling off my bike rather spectacularly and being injured equally spectacularly, sorting myself out for college and generally existing.
These guys are Haradrim Raiders, and they'll be mounted (they have custom horses) horse archers which raid Southern Gondor. In roaming parties of around 40 of these men, they are a formidable force. Edits to Warband's AI means that instead of charging straight into the fray, these men specialise in riding around at a distance, in a circle around their targets, firing inwards.
Bring your shield and cavalry to fight these guys, or expect to become a porcupine!
But but but but..... i want to be a hedgehog not a porcupine!
I must admit that hedgehogs are cuter.
can we get a circle formation like the other guy said? and can you also make it so the enemy doesn't all way just hold position or advance at us very slowly because that happens in some mods alot and sometimes i hate charging so yea
What is wrong with rome 2 in your opinion I have my own problems with it but would like to know other opinions?
It's a buggy, confusing, cluttered, forced mess is whats wrong with it. I can't wait for some patches. I'm am still enjoying it, but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone at the moment
yeah i have some probs whit it taking a LOT of time to do things and that whole CTF system they got on land and coastal battles? i hate it lol.
Better ai ? uh oh now i need to think of better tactics
What is wrong with Rome II Jarvisimo? I have not bought it so I do not know, the last Total War game I truly enjoyed was Medieval II.
I take it you only plan on making a handful of Haradrim and Corsair units for that region and fleshing out the faction fully in a later release.
Looks great so far, glad you are back and giving us updates again. :)
Look up AngryJoeShow on YouTube, he has a couple videos that show exactly what's wrong with it, and he talks about another issue with it.
Honestly, most of the problems with Rome 2 are just typical TW problems. Everyone whose played a TW game before knows those problems will be in future iterations.
Game runs too slow
graphics are bad(but large scale battles mean this is forgivable)
formations don't work correctly
melee battles have soldiers break formation to fight targets 1v1
some historic inaccuracies
campaign and battle AI never gets smarter, just more resources
as a Grand Strategy the game falls short
as an RTS, the game falls short
The reason TW fans keep buying the games is because despite all this, TW is the only game of its kind on the market. It also does this fairly well, truth be told.
To counter their tactics, I'd like it i you coded a circular formation; each person standing in a circle facing outwards, weapons and shields at the ready.
If you look closely you can see that there is no human inside ...
Great work anyway :D give us minas tirith!!
Dude, this is just a render of their equipment. xD
Minas Tirith will come, in time.
Relax, its just a troll comment xD
I know, no hard feelings. Thanks for the compliment :D

Looks great jarv!
Now bring me tha elephant!
Wonderful work. Love it. Love it ALL!
I really like what you're doing with this mod, and especially the models. I hope you continue to work on this, and finish this project.
Great mod!Is it possible to make a setting which when turned on makes getting captured and escaping only take away a few of your part instead of starting again without any?
Oh also can you make the orcs start out with wargs instead of Horses. Sorry :)
