The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game. You will make a choice that does not matter You will follow a story that has no end You will play a game you cannot win ...it's actually best if you don't know anything about it before you play it :D
Incredibly simple, but simply fantastic. This was an interesting piece of work that is different from anything you've played before, and it should provide some thought-provoking moments for the player to consider the meaning of a video game and free choice. I managed to find all six endings.
I think I got most of the endings. There were only a few more apart from the original that I found, even after spending all day on it looking for more. It's very interesting for an hour or two, but $12 (full price $15?) seems like a lot to ask for what the game offers. I had higher expectations. Maybe it's because I was desensitized to some dialogue after remembering it from the mod. I wish I could find more endings because I feel like I'm missing so much. It looks like there's a lot there, a lot everywhere, when most of the time there's nothing important there. So many buttons and props that have nothing to do with the story but are there to troll you. I did that input puzzle until I reached the buttons room and I still don't know what that's all about. And I wish there was at least some filtering on the shadows so they wouldn't have such jagged edges. But overall this is a decent game. I think my favorite part is when the narrator took me to "someone else's game". That part really surprised me.
it's a great story, very well told... but it's too short... or so i though...
play this game as many times as you can, do whatever YOU want, ask your friends to try it, you'll be surprised on how many different, funny and smart endings this game has.
i can't even call it a mod, it's not fair.
Wow. Just wow. I've never been so impressed by a game's story in my life. The narration is excellent, the plot is superb and meaningful. I found it very satisfying and thought-provoking. To say anything more would mar the experience. Do yourself a favor and step into Stanley's shoes right now.
This is how Half life 2 mods are supposed to made!.
It's been so long since Ive got any kicks from a mod or video game so I ventured and found this mod, upon playing I found myself clapping and laughing at the amazing voice talent and hilarious player interaction!
I have total confidence that if an idea like this were to become a full length game it would be an instant hit.
