The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game. You will make a choice that does not matter You will follow a story that has no end You will play a game you cannot win ...it's actually best if you don't know anything about it before you play it :D
The Stanley Parable is by far the best Narrative-driven mod I have ever played, perhaps even the best narrative-driven video game I have ever played. One of the key-factors in this is that there is not just one narrative to follow, but several. I also very much enjoyed the self-awareness of the entire story, meaning that it was aware that this was a story to be told and that awareness played a key role in the narrative given. Overall this mod was very well thought out and holds a very interesting message on what meaning the choices the player really gets to make in a game hold.
The mod is very interesting, It kind of enthralls you into sense of obligation to play it until you heard every single piece of narritive in the game. The voice actor was great. The humour was awesome and I enjoyed all the endings. However the visuals were a bit lacking but that seems to fit well for some reason. 9/10
