The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game.

You will make a choice that does not matter

You will follow a story that has no end

You will play a game you cannot win

...it's actually best if you don't know anything about it before you play it :D

TSP does not actually require Half Life 2 on PC, only the Source SDK which should download automatically when you start the game. On Mac, HL2 is required.

Well, I'm glad I made a point to avoid the comments section before playing. This was a very funny, intriguing mod that I enjoyed quite a lot. In fact, I played it through around five times just to see all the outcomes. Loved the basement conversation, though I was disappointed that trying to work around things by noclipping or spawning weapons had no special consequence. xD Definitely an existential game, fantastic work.

Its got a great story.
You play as stanley and you have a narrator telling you what to do and you can either rebel and not follow his dirrections or you can just follow blindly and get some random outcomes.

So yeah theres alot of choices. 6 endings you should go play it now.
Im going to pointout something i noticed AFTER playing the mod. it kind makes me think about maybe what the developer of this mod is trying to put into your head.

if you add the numbers from all of the monitors on the walls you get the number: 7131.
Now count the ammount of monitors: 18
7131/18=396

Thestanleyparable. Not including the spaces it's 17 characters long. so lets divide 396/17 and you'll get 23.
Now put the number 23 into wikipedia and you'll get the deaths of a few chinese people i've never heard of and that i don't give a **** about

You know something is up when that happens. Now. Convert 23 into binary and youll get 10111.
Search that on google and one of the results will be the 10111 fresnel.
A main-belt Asteroid discovered on july 25th 1992.

Beside from july 25th being 2 days before the actually game release this year, if you search it on wikipedia which is always correct you will notice how july 25th 1992 there was an nazi assassination.

Verdict: Neo-nazi propaganda

it seems that i am the only one who doesn't like this map, (it's not a mod). I played both endings, and also did take the right door in the middle of the map, and again both options that are given there. So, i played it fully through. When i first read a lot of comments and reviews about this single small map i was really interested to see what people where talking about. What was it that made them all give this map a rating of nines and tens (9/10). But ones i played it i thought i missed something…
