Hey guys! It's been awhile, hasn't it? Sorry about the lack of any updates concerning The Space Pirate. Anybody who follows me on any of the 900 million social media sites out there knows I've been busy with other Blue Vertigo endeavors. BUT THAT'S NEITHER HERE NOR THERE!

As you can see by this post and this lovely page, The Space Pirate is now on MOD DB! This came as a suggestion from someone in a PM on the ZDoom forums and I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea; after all, more exposure to the mod couldn't hurt. I promise not to let the incoming praise and approval get to my head.

Anyways, one of the reasons things have been taking so long is that I've made a huge list of things I want to do in TSP and then got overwhelmed by said list. When I started TSP I wanted to do everything myself, mostly as an exercise in task management and such. I had help from my buddy Scroton in regards to the shotgun's multiple shell types (which are in the upcoming version!), and he had offered his services as an official coder for the project. I had turned him down based on the principle that the mod was a learning experience for me, but eh, whatever.

SCROTON JOINS THE FRAY!...as TSP's coding expert and professional caterer! He doesn't about that last part yet, but I figured he'd be down for it.

Scroton has been a huge help in getting this new version up and running, he's pretty much coded the two new weapons in from scratch. It's been awesome and they look way better than anything I probably would've come up with. Thanks to him, the new version of The Space Pirate has now gone from "possibly being released in an alternate timeline" to "possibly being released in the nearest of futures"! All that is left as of this writing is some balancing changes and some rather troublesome animations for the new weapons.

Our goal is to put out new builds of TSP at a faster rate, and hopefully even though my calender is starting to fill up, we can achieve that goal! I plan on keeping this page updated with news, tutorials, and whatever the hell else I feel like in the mean time! Thanks for your support and pestering me about the mod. If you hadn't, I might've forgotten about it.

Also, check out the beginner's tutorial in the tutorial section! As I'm writing this, it's not actually authorized yet, but I'm sure it soon will be. Well, as sure as I can be on a website I'm unfamiliar with.
