Every vote counts and may win you a game on Steam!

For a full changelist of the recent TSLRCM and M4-78EP patches check the previous journal:

TLSRCM 1.8.3B:

M4-78EP 1.1B:

TSLRCM Installation Instructions

1. If you're using an older version of TSLRCM (1.8 or lower), a game re-install is required before applying 1.8.3B.
(Steam users, skip to point 4)
2. After re-installing it's advised to apply the official patch (1.0b). Non-US versions require you to install 1.0a first, then 1.0b, US versions can install 1.0b right away. Make sure to apply the patch that fits your version. Also, after installing 1.8.3, the official patch can no longer be installed!
3. If desired, apply the high quality music and/or movie patches
4. Install 1.8.3B
We've had several users on Vista mention that instead of Program files (x86) it would point to Program Files/Program Files, causing the installation to fail. Make sure the installer points to the proper location of your KOTOR2 installation.
Default (32-bit windows); C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\
Default (64-bit windows); C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\
Steam default (32-bit windows); C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\
Steam default (64-bit windows); C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\
GOG default: C:\GOG Games\Star Wars - KotOR2
5. To check if the installation has succeeded, try launching KOTOR2:TSL. If at the main menu it says "Restored Content Modification 1.8.3" on the screen the installation has been successful.
6. While we try our best to make this mod as bug-free as possible, with the many options of KOTOR2 and our small testing team bugs, critical ones, sometimes make it through. We will fix them, so check our site for any potential updates and patches. We would rather not have people play unpatched and then experience issues like the black screen (1.7) or red eclipse (1.6)!
7. Install any TSLRCM-compatible mods you desire now. If you're unsure if a mod you want is compatible, check our list at our forums, or section 6 - Mod compatibility in this readme.

NEWS - Extended Enclave Update

Popular mod "Extended Enclave" got updated to version 2.2. It's suggested you update your installations, especially if you use it combined with the Handmaiden 4 Females modification. Clean install is recommended by the developers.
Extended Enclave (TSLRCM add-on)

  • *Improved compatibility for H4F - D4M mod
  • *M4 version renamed to M4-78 Compatibility patch
  • *Post Enclave bugfixes
  • *Small tweaks

NEWS - Something Star Warsy

I probably don't even *need* to mention it, but going to do so anyway. Check out the newest trailer for the upcoming Episode VII. Looks good to me, now I actually look forward to it! If only they would also make a proper KOTOR3...

I honestly have no idea why we got featured, but thanks anyway! I assume our current #1 possition is due to that? Still would have been nice to know why, but I guess you shouldn't look a gifted Bantha in the mouth.

What does "Modified random loot system. This fixes the issue with robes, droid headgear, rare loot on higher levels and some others" mean exactly? Does it also include a "fix" so we can get rare robes at maybe level 20's? Levels 40-50 are unreachable without exploits. Why they made it like that in the first place is stupid and has no use at all.

Hassat_Hunter Feb 14 2013 replied:

Exactly that. It fixes all known issues with the random loot system.
1) Robes being undroppable
2) Droid headgear being undroppable
3) Rare loot hits on higher levels exceeding item maximum and returning nothing instead.
4) And tinier fixes like random saber colors, ability for security spike tunnelers to drop, Mira's rockets fix... maybe a few more I don't recall...

fredamora Feb 14 2013 replied:

Oh I forgot to ask. "fixed robes being undroppable" means rare robes don't have to be dropped in Nar Shaddaa Fassa Dock quest alone, right? It can be anywhere...provided of course I'm lucky with the random loot generation, and I have the proper level (no longer the ridiculous 40+ level but hopefully just 15+).

They didn't even drop at lvl 40. That's not how the system works.
But yeah, all high-level ones can be found around the same time as other items, around lvl 24+

fredamora Feb 18 2013 replied:

Yup, i can personally confirm this now. I got it at level 24. Just got the OP sylvar's (?) robe. I'm still out looking for malak's and jolee's. By the way, how come PC is a level behind from my companions? Weird, must have did something wrong somewhere

fredamora Feb 14 2013 replied:

Sweet. That means I can get Darth Malak's Armor or Jolee Bindo's Robe even if I don't hit level 40+ (that's what they say is the level requirement before)? What's more or less the level requirement now for high tier robes like those mentioned if you don't mind me asking. You guys are just awesome. No wonder even Chris Avellone gave you guys high praises.

Almost the same thing happened to me a day ago. I had Bao-Dur's Charged Armor installed. Or rather it was installed, but not properly. It had something to do with "appearance.2da" (or was it baseitem.2da) being not in the override folder, so it was not updated by the tsl patcher. How should I know, readme didn't say so. I had black screen whenever I get to restoration zone. Your best step for now is to let the people know what mods you have...so they can help you out.

TSLRCM is fantastic, but the M-4-78 mod is an abomination. TSLRCM deserves a 10 with the restored content that, aside from the Jedi Padawan voice-over, is flawless. On the other hand M4-78 is like the undead - killed by Obsidian, resurrected by the TSLRCM team, but just stumbles along with no coherance trying to eat the players brain. The voice-overs are cringe worthy, the gameplay is incredibly boring, and the journal system is inadequate - most of the time I had no idea what I was supposed to…
