The usual response to complains about TSLRP was that people should make their own mod, then they could complain. 2 modders, Stoney and Zbyl2 (with help from Jinger and a few others), did.

TSLRCM was first released to the public on 24 september 2009. The release was version 1.4 and was labeled as a public beta, being a playable mod with few to no game breaking bugs. 1.4 was improved by patches 1.4a, 1.4b, 1.4c, and 1.4d. At this point, animator Savvy30039 decided to contribute her lean animation to the restoration, which was included in 1.4d.

On 15 march 2010 was the release of TSLRCM 1.5. A patch to the mod, 1.5a, was released shortly after to resolve some remaining bugs.

Between 1.5 and 1.6 the development team was strengthened by Hassat Hunter (previously testing) and Varsity Puppet (previously some minor tweaks, now HK-Factory, Peragus and other).

On June 24th, 2010, TSLRCM 1.6 was released, featuring various cutscene tweaks, dialog bug fixes and more.

On October 16th, 2010, TSLRCM 1.7 was released, which features additional bug-fixes and other additions such as: the Visas-Nihilus movie using the in-game engine to play (rather than a pre-rendered BIK movie), Kreia's Battle for Telos Mod integrated into the mod, the low-res BIK movies of the Dantooine battle replaced with in- game ones, and an improved dialog.tlk mod integrated/improved upon (for the English version.)

Almost a year has passed, but work still continued on 1.8, which is the biggest TSLRCM release yet. It has been released on 24 july 2012.

On 28 december 2012, after a long period of development, finally M4-78EP saw the light, adding a full grand planet to explore and experience more KOTOR2 gameplay in, and actually talk with Vash alive, explaining some critical details about force bonds to the player, meanwhile uncovering the events which took place just before the Exile's arrival.

The most current versions are TSLRCM 1.8.3, and M4-78EP 1.1 ("patched"), both released 15 March 2014.

TSLRCM Installation Instructions

1. If you're using an older version of TSLRCM (1.8 or lower), a game re-install is required before applying 1.8.3B.
(Steam users, skip to point 4)
2. After re-installing it's advised to apply the official patch (1.0b). Non-US versions require you to install 1.0a first, then 1.0b, US versions can install 1.0b right away. Make sure to apply the patch that fits your version. Also, after installing 1.8.3, the official patch can no longer be installed!
3. If desired, apply the high quality music and/or movie patches
4. Install 1.8.3B
CHECK YOUR INSTALLATION DIRECTORY.
DO NOT INSTALL INTO THE OVERRIDE FOLDER OR YOUR GAME WILL CRASH!
We've had several users on Vista mention that instead of Program files (x86) it would point to Program Files/Program Files, causing the installation to fail. Make sure the installer points to the proper location of your KOTOR2 installation.

Steam default (64-bit windows); C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\
GOG default: C:\GOG Games\Star Wars - KotOR2
5. To check if the installation has succeeded, try launching KOTOR2:TSL. If at the main menu it says "Restored Content Modification 1.8.3" on the screen the installation has been successful.
PLEASE CHECK OUR OFFICIAL WEBSITE OR MODDB FOR ANY POTENTIAL UPDATES
6. While we try our best to make this mod as bug-free as possible, with the many options of KOTOR2 and our small testing team bugs, critical ones, sometimes make it through. We will fix them, so check our site for any potential updates and patches. We would rather not have people play unpatched and then experience issues like the black screen (1.7) or red eclipse (1.6)!
7. Install any TSLRCM-compatible mods you desire now. If you're unsure if a mod you want is compatible, check our list at our forums, or section 6 - Mod compatibility in this readme.

NEWS - MONTHLY MODDB NEWSLETTER

I honestly have no idea why we got featured, but thanks anyway! I assume our current #1 possition is due to that? Still would have been nice to know why, but I guess you shouldn't look a gifted Bantha in the mouth.

Usually this means the mods placed in override, rather than the root folder... which also makes the game simply crash on loading/starting a game.
If that's the case, the only thing you can do is re-install KOTOR2 in it's entirety and this time install it to the proper location.

could it be something else? cause i can start a new game & did see additional dialog option between the driods in prologue which shows the mod is working

the override folder contain roughly 80MB files only, smaller than the mod installer 127MB

nvm, i removed .\override\KOTOR2Logo.tga & the original logo showed up(in place of the blank texture). maybe i was supposed to play at widescreen instead of 1024x768.

The contents of override are about 5% of all changes TSLRCM make, so it makes sense it's smaller than the installer.

And that would work, still not sure why it would be blank. The game's never designed to be widescreen ever, so that can't be it...

Rebuilt Jedi Enclave No Cutscene

I killed every jedi and when I get to Dantoonine the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave, there is no cutscene. Kreia told me to go to Dantoonine and I get to Dantoonine. When I get to the jedi enclave, theres the cutscene of showing the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave.(Things going well so far) I fight the Kath Hounds and entered to the Jedi Enclave. There is another scene you know, when you walk up and nobody being in your party anymore. When

I get to to the big openroom, there is no cutscene.
I did downloaded the TSLRCM after I installed the game. I installed 1.8.3. I even downloaded beore creating a new character. I have no other mods, but the TSLRCM. I tried loading it again.I brung Kreia and she triggers a cutscene, but it just shows your character walking and then it turns to a black screen. I'm sorry, this is my first time using a mod ever.I'm suck at this mod stuff. Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like what happens if you have Kreia-skin mods installed. Which is odd if you have just TSLRCM.
What version do you have? Steam/4CD?

Hey; terribly excited to play this.

So, I downloaded the game on steam today. I then downloaded your main mod; it seemed to have automatically searched for and found the file, so I selected to confirm. I downloaded it, said it had installed, and automatically the ReadMe popped up, which claimed I'd see a note saying the Restored Content mod was active on the main menu. I turn on the game, and it didn't show up at the main menu (with Sion looking all glower-ey). Nothing there's changed.

Did I miss something, maybe? I had thought I could just have the installation finish, open the main game from Steam, and go. Is there another way I need to open the game? I'm running Windows 7, if that helps.

Please let me know if you have any insight. Thanks!

"it seemed to have automatically searched for and found the file"
It doesn't... it will have installed in the default location for the 4-CD version, which is not the same as Steam.
You can find the Steam defaults in the readme, or the newspost on top.

Hey, need some help with this wonderful mod. I'm on Nar Shadaa right now and I'm completely done and just need to leave. Only thing is, the trandoshan slavers triggered twice and now I can't use the Ebon Hawk to leave. I've tried enabling cheats and using the world clearing cheat someone mentioned but cheats wont enable in the game for some reason, so I thought it might be connected to the mod. Any chance you know what to do?

You're probably using TSLRCM 1.6. Update to the latest version (1.8.3).

I've had trouble with Nar Shadaa executing the wrong triggers and the only way I could fix it was by reverting to an old save. Otherwise I don't know what else to do.

TSLRCM is fantastic, but the M-4-78 mod is an abomination. TSLRCM deserves a 10 with the restored content that, aside from the Jedi Padawan voice-over, is flawless. On the other hand M4-78 is like the undead - killed by Obsidian, resurrected by the TSLRCM team, but just stumbles along with no coherance trying to eat the players brain. The voice-overs are cringe worthy, the gameplay is incredibly boring, and the journal system is inadequate - most of the time I had no idea what I was supposed to…
