The Ship Server Guide
Jun 09, 2006 Other 0 commentsAn official The Ship Server guide.
Imagine a game in which you don't know who to trust, you don't know who may be about to kill you, in fact you don't even know who is human and who is artificial. Played online, your quarry is another human player but can you find them amongst the AI inhabitants of the Ship? Once you know who they are, find yourself a weapon but keep an eye out for security guards and cameras. If you're spotted trying to murder someone you'll be transported to the Brig and suffer a hefty fine. If you succeed in killing your quarry Mr. X will reward you with a cash prize, depending on how entertaining he found your murder. At the same time you must look after yourself, wash, sleep, eat and have fun and remember - always look over your shoulder because somewhere there's a player looking for you!
This classic mod is now a standalone game built on the source engine.

Scottish-based Games Developer Outerlight would like to announce the release of a new version of their Half-Life 1 mod – The Ship. The first release of this unique first-person stalk and murder game has been well received and several significant improvements have been made for the second release.
The new version can be downloaded from - Theshiponline.com
• The game now functions properly using Valve’s Steam system.
• With the shutdown of WON all servers will now run on Steam.
• Includes two new maps – Aurora and Argo.
• Many issues with the old maps fixed – Daedalus and HMS Redrum.
• Quarry assignment system has been altered to prevent constant quarry changes.
• Many exploits have been fixed, for example it is no longer possible to avoid jail time or cash penalties by quitting the game and rejoining.

I love this version better than the retail version. It, like all Half Life 1 mods, has waaayyyyy better gameplay than source mods and games. Its just a shame that nobody plays this anylonger, they only play the retail version. I remember times when there would be around 50 servers or so up with at least 10-15 with players in them. They should have built the retail version with Half Life 1.6 engine instead of the Source engine, IMO.
Anybody know why there are no servers whatsoever, even that ip posted doesn't work!
the server ip is 192.168.1.101:27015
ad it to ur favorites and it will show up
im putting up a dedicated server if anyone wants to play
Does anyone know how the hell to install this mod? I have tried changing the install path and things, but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone else have this problem? How do I get it to appear in the steam menu and actually play it? I am having the same problem with Half-Life Rally.
As i heard there is a costless The Ship mod for Half life 1 i was so happy! Then i installed it and then the shock... NO SERVERS!!!!plz more servers! And I have an great idea!plz send emails to the giga team that there is a The Ship mod for Half life 1!I´m sure that will push the game!
we need servers on the ship not source im creating 1 if u want to join u more than welcome in on won
Is this the game on steam? If not, what is the difference?
this is a game isnt it? ive played it before its called the ship and its on steam a free 3 day trial is on there so you can play it for 3 days so i dont know if you made it but i saw it on steam.
That's the question on lots of minds considering it's the follow up to this great half life 1 mod. And I can honestly say if you can run half life 2 on medium with mat_dxlevel 90, then you'll have a hell'v a good time! The game is amazingly detailed and well put together! Charecters now can actually change their outfit and acsessories without changing models completely and there are TONS of new weapons to the list.
The only 2 problems is that some of the ships are overly huge. You can get lost easly if you don't memorize deck plans, and if you arn't able to run medium with a mat_dxlevel of 90, then you'll have a hell'v a lot of lag! I just recently upgraded mycomputer and I went from totally hating this game to completely loving it! Main 2 big changes is that weapons no longer lie around, but are instead placed inside various containers such as a box, that you can serch through, and the radar is replaced with a tracker in the corner that every 30 seconds or so, tlels you where your quarry was last seen. This keeps players constantly on the move.
