The Shadow Over Innsmouth is a single player Half-Life 2 Mod created for a school project with all the students of my class at NAD Center.
The game begins at night in the city, the player is awakened in his hotel room by loud noises at the door and must flee his hotel. His race will bring him into the narrow alleys of the city to end in the city sewers, but also in secret rooms that suggest dark ceremonies dedicated to the mythical god Cthulhu. Finally, he finds himself in an old port where it needs to reach a lighthouse in a final attempt to survive.

Lowest Rated (3 agree) 1/10
Lazy custom animations, nonsensical plotline and weapons, and nothign to tell you where to go.
Horrid mapping, even open spots where your'e able to get stuck, and the ending not only made no sense, but doesn't tell you your'e finished.

This mod is an obvious student project, and believe it or not, it holds a better grasp of basic design elements than 90 percent of the most popular mods on here. (NH2, Underhell, etc) You guys did good, except it's evident you were rushed. Good job overall, though. Rated 10 to drown out the undeserved 1-5 ratings this mod is going to be flooded with.
Tien tien, des étudiants de mon école :)
Je ne pensais pas voir un projet du NAD ici. J'avais vu la vidéo sur le web. Merci !
saw this mod on youtube awhile back and have been looking all over for it! thankyou!
So, is destroying the lighthouse the end?
Nice mod, but how can u survive the first wave of those zombies. And there are also some bugs I found: One lamp in the room by the statue lock
(I think its 1 :P)
And one of the graves
They arent zombies, fish people to be more exact.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER*
Get out of that alley before they reach it and RUN! :p
I'm going to state that what i'm about to say is not to be taken in offence it is mearly constructive critisism.
Texture: The textures are nice 9/10
Map: The maps are a bit rough around the edges and have way to many invisible walls 6/10
Audio: The sounds were all hl and unmodified which really lessened the experience 3/10
Difficulty and replay ability: the overall difficulty is really easy, except for when the map contruction was hindering you 4/10
Enemy creativity: the enemies where just redone hl2 enemies, but they looked nice 3/10
Camera/Cutscenes: the camera was buggy when it was forced to move for enemy appearences and I couldn't watch the end cause it spawned me back at the lighthouse 3/10
Lighting: there was no atmoshpheric lighting most of the time, 2/10
Story: it really needs some 2/10
Overall: 4.28/10
Could be a lot better with some more work.
If i offend then just bury or delete this comment.
If you want the story, then read The Shadow Over Innsmouth by HP Lovecraft. The mod was based on his book.
I don't see anything wrong with your comment.
I agree on pretty much all of the points. It was quite easy and I thought it was going to be much longer considering the size of the file. I know that isn't always an indicator, but usually if the files are compiled in the usual manner, size does equal duration of gameplay.
I still think it was a great mod in general and worth a playthrough.
