The Ruins of Kel'Theril is a singleplayer 3rd person action-adventure game created for Blizzard Entertainment's Starcraft II. The map, set in a separate universe to that of Starcraft II, involves the player exploring the ruins of an ancient city from a long lost civilization.
Now you, having dedicated most of your life to finding the city, have made a breakthrough in your search for the city. Having found a map of the apparent location of the city, you have set out into the thick jungle in order to find the city, and whatever secrets it may hold...
The project has been in development for over two months, and is currently aimed for release either late 2011 or early 2012. If you are interested in the project, you can follow us, as well as view our Gallery and past News entries.
Recently a couple of major changes have been made to the project, which I will explain in the following news post, as well as showing two new screenshots.
Over the last month or so the project has changed from what was originally going to be a single map into a collection of maps. This was done for a couple of reasons, the biggest being that it was becoming to much of a struggle to fit all the content I wanted to into a single 256*256 map. As a result the project has been split into around 4-5 smaller maps, each of which are linked together similar to how a campaign is structured.
Ultimately what this means is that hopefully I should be able to add many more hours worth of content to the project. The first level for the map has already been expanded significantly, and I intend to do the same for the rest of the map as well.
