In the year 1923, war erupts across Calradia and Balion once more, bringing life to a new age of mechanization, revolution and nationalism, and a fourth era of technology that will forever shape the face of warfare.

Since the Vaegirs are based on the Red Army it would be great to have the recruits be revolutionaries instead of simple conscripts to get that communist feeling. For example have them be peasants or workers with civilian clothes that have a red armband or something else to symbolize their dedication to the common cause.

This way the player can lead the international revolution!

But the commies DID rely on mass conscript recruitment. I doubt a lot of people were fighting on the Eastern front for idealogy. They were there because they would be shot by the commissar/secret police if they didn't fight.
