The Red Alert, developed by the mod team of C&C Labs (makes of The Forgotten and C&C All Stars, undertakes one of the most ambitious tasks in C&C modding: to recreate and improve upon an original game. The mod, in development for Red Alert 3, is based off the original Red Alert's art and game play. Not aiming to model realism, it instead endeavors to bring the addictive heart-pounding game play of the classic to a world-class 3D engine, to bring back all of the classic units, including those from Aftermath, and to recreate the very "feel" of its art style. With The Red Alert, epic tank battles, MiG attack runs, and Cruiser strikes will be more than just fond memories — they will all be weapons in your arsenal once again! It was released on September 21, 2011 and was ranked the number one mod on Moddb.

After playing this mod, I was truly shocked by how bad the unmodded Red Alert 3 was. I cannot fathom, exactly, how Red Alert 3 became the horrible game that it is today. Luckily, this mod is here to save the day. There is an immidiate distinction while playing a game, in this mod. While I, personally, would have preferred a Red Alert 2 mod, The Red Alert mod provides a very satisfying experience, that Red Alert 3 should have been. If you own a copy of Red Alert 3, I recommend you download this mod, immediately. However, if you enjoy the abilities aspect of the game, rather than what The Red Alert mod provides, I recommend you play Starcraft 1 and or 2 (it is probably a more enjoyable experience, that coincides with your desires).

It's a well-structured mod, but it lacks any real flavor that evokes the classic RA1 feel. More detail into the unit textures and actions could do that, but those are just my thoughts.

a Very nice mod. Very similar to the original Red Alert along with the ability to capture oil derricks and other tech buildings. No campaign, but if you like to play the couple hour long skirmish, than this is for you. The AI is challenging, they capture everything they can and send some good rushes even on easy.

A couple things to know, the service repair. It doesn't have an enter button on it for vehicles. You have to steer your vehicle toward the service center till its on top of it and than it will heal.

The Minelayer, for one it costs money for every mine you lay down and theres about a 30 sec gap in between each mine you buy. For me, the mines werent working. Enemies were walking right over them and not dying.

a couple other things, rocket troops are very powerful, a couple rockets takes down any chopper or mig. The mechanic doesnt just heal vehicles by himself, at times.

For the most part, a very good mod if you miss the days of resource gathering and some fun times

I like what you have done guys! I liked it personally. Only thing it needs is a new map set.
