The Red Alert, developed by the mod team of C&C Labs (makes of The Forgotten and C&C All Stars, undertakes one of the most ambitious tasks in C&C modding: to recreate and improve upon an original game. The mod, in development for Red Alert 3, is based off the original Red Alert's art and game play. Not aiming to model realism, it instead endeavors to bring the addictive heart-pounding game play of the classic to a world-class 3D engine, to bring back all of the classic units, including those from Aftermath, and to recreate the very "feel" of its art style. With The Red Alert, epic tank battles, MiG attack runs, and Cruiser strikes will be more than just fond memories — they will all be weapons in your arsenal once again! It was released on September 21, 2011 and was ranked the number one mod on Moddb.

Given the intended purpose of this mod (a recreation of the original Red Alert), it has accomplished all of it's goals.

Excellent models, with perfect details. It literally feels like Red Alert just became a 3D RTS.
The only thing that bothers me is the "stupidity" of the AI's base building. It feels as if they have no idea of what they're doing, placing buildings and base defenses at random locations.
Otherwise a good mod. Will still be playing it, even with the random AI building ;)

This is a must have for any C&C fan. It is so well worked out in this engine. I stopped playing RA3 a long time ago, but with this mod it started to be fun again.

Graphics of the models could be made a little bit nicer, but I understand that it may be a hard thing to do if you want to keep everything as original to the RA(1) version.

A fat plus is the Atomic Bomb, damn that feels good to watch go down :)

After feeling like a idiot for giving it a one out of ten. I decided to bump it up and right a proper review about it.

The mod is actually very unique compared to other C&C RD3 mods. It has the same play style and units from the first red alert.

Now, why I dislike it is for its to-close comparison and goal of trying to be like the first Red Alert.

Its modules well, are low-Polly and texture. They don't have this special touch when I move them around the battlefield, they are not special or felt like they had any real effort put into them at all. Bland is the word I guess I am looking for. They could have been made to look more exciting with better effects, textures and higher-polly counts.

The game play its self is boring. I attempted it multiple times to try to get somewhere with the game play and I felt it was not at all fun. I honestly can't give a great point about why I did not like it. But I can provide a feeling; uncomfortable, slow and boring.

It deserves a four for its creativity and its underlining goal. But, nothing more.

Badass. It really captures the old feel in a new light, not to mention 3 dimensions! This team should also invest some time into making a C&C "Tiberian Dawn" mod simmilar to this.
