This total-conversion mod takes the Battle for Middle-earth II to the Fifth Century BCE, replacing the original content with two new, fully-fledged factions: Sparta and Athens. Completely new content, strategies and more awaits you. This project is brought to you by Kwen, Matias, Lauri, njm1983, Glaeken and Mike who are hosted at the3rdage.net, a division of revora.net.

T3A:Online Is Here!

THE RETURN OF BFME ONLINE MULTIPLAYER IS NOW!

Hello everyone! Today is a big day for the BFME community.
It's been almost three years since EA shut down BFME's servers,
forcing the community to start using third party software to get their BFME multiplayer experience.
It was no longer possible to simply log into the game's online server and play.

Today, all of this will change.

We at The 3rd Age BFME community have been hard at work developing T3A:Online, a custom BFME online server, and a launcher (client) that will allow you to once again log into the game's online mode and play.
All you need to do is download and install the client, create an online account over at our forums, and you'll be all set to log into the servers.

To read more about T3A:Online, read our official announcement topic:
Forums.revora.net

To download the client and view instructions, visit our website:

Happy playing!

Hey Dudes!I know modding is a huge undertaking so if there is anything I can do to help, I would be willing, however I have no idea how to mod, but still if you send me a small instruction notepad, i am confident I could figure it out!

...a small instruction notepad? Modding this game isn't very complicated, but it's definitely too complicated to just jot down like that.

Ha Ha! What I meant was, if there was like some sort of balancing or other individual aspect of modding, or maybe some research on Greece or something, just let me know, and I would be more than willing, but if it is modding related I may need a link to instructions.

When I try to play the game it crashes and says:
AnimationSound line: unkown sound 'BallistaCrankN'
error parsing field AnimationSound' in block 'Object' in file 'data\ini\object\fortwallballistes.ini, line 160.
I can't find this anywhere to fix it.
Any advice?

A few questions:

1) Are you planning to update the 'make a hero' system with the new shields and armors?

2) Will the next version contain naval warfare?

3) Are there any plans to rebuild 'the war of the ring' system to fit within your mod?

4) Are you going to add more siege weapons to the spartan armory (ladders for example)

5) are you going to make city maps in which one team controls the city (like minas tirith, or helmsdeep) and one has to besiege?

That's all for now, good luck with the mod!

1) The 'Create-a-Hoplite' feature contains content that is unique to them, our other units do not use it. We may in the future put some new stuff in there, but it isn't a priority feature, merely an add on.

2) Not likely, but we have been discussing how to renovate the naval system to make it more useful and appealing. It's tough to design naval to represent Greek warfare, since they used ramming methods and the game does not support that.

3) We haven't even begun to think about War of the Ring. It would be a huge undertaking to make an entire new world with Greece.

4) Nothing has been planned.

5) There will be some city maps, I don't know if it will be a standard attack/defend style, but we do plan on incorporating city maps where the players wage war in the streets and focus on claiming valuable capture points.

Graphically this mod is really impressive, great models and skins.
The map Corinth also looks very good. Good object placement, nice map props, good texturing.
The background music is also very nice.
