This total-conversion mod takes the Battle for Middle-earth II to the Fifth Century BCE, replacing the original content with two new, fully-fledged factions: Sparta and Athens. Completely new content, strategies and more awaits you. This project is brought to you by Kwen, Matias, Lauri, njm1983, Glaeken and Mike who are hosted at the3rdage.net, a division of revora.net.
The three stages of the Spartan Hoplite. They start with just cloth, but can be upgraded to wear the Bronze Cuirasse. Then, once your Hoplites have proven their worth in battle, they are granted their plumes and cloaks.
Pretty rad! So, will they stay in formation or will they get all messed up like the soldiers in the regular game do?
They stay in formation. We've handled it a bit differently from vanilla BFME2.
That's nice to hear. I would still love the mod, but yeah, sticking to their formations is a big plus (I mean, why else use formations then if you break formation at every chance?).
I might have misinterpreted your question; it wasn't very uncommon in vanilla BFME2 for units to revert to their standard formation instead of staying in the special one. That won't happen here, but now I get the feeling you're asking if they do not "spread out" to attack their targets. Because they do that. I don't think it can be helped.
Understood. Gotta work with the engine's limitations. :)
