I am the Creative Director and Project Manager at Lambda Interactive, the developers for our new mod, The Orange Suit Project. Although it sounds naive, we are producing a Half-Life 2: Episode Two sequel. Our goal is to faithfully use the same methodology of making our mod in our design process as Valve once did for the making of the Half-Life franchise. It is to feature puzzles, down time, and most importantly, a lot of fun with the gravity gun. The mod features clever gameplay using the gravity gun that you have never seen. We are centric on the gravity gun because we thought it was underused in the original Half-Life 2 franchise.
Yay, houndeyes! :D
Houndeyes need reskins I think, but it's great to see them again!
Laidlaw always suggested that they were still around... just not near City 17.
What do you think of the theory that Hunters are Houndeye synths? since they both sound like dogs, have 3 legs, more than one eye. Eh?
You might be right. ;)
I would disagree. The hunters are far too large and different in appearance to be houndeye synths and even if they were, why would the combine strip them of their sonic attack? Surely they would build on that rather than simply remove it. :P
An good comparison would be the headcrabs. The combine didn't modify/enhance them (other than possibly the poison and fast varients as we did not see them previous to HL2) but they did weaponise their aggressive parasitic nature.
Well, I did hear a theory that they were 'mutated Striders' hence why they protect Striders and are similar in anatomy.
Or perhaps the Houndeyes, Striders and Hunters are all related somehow and belong in a subclass, like the Vortigaunts, Alien Grunts, Nihilanth and Controllers?
