Tedrich was not a remarkable boy. In fact by most standards he was rather underwhelming. The only thing that made him truly unique was the horrible dreams that plagued him night after night. Every time he shut his eyes he was faced with the most terrifying events one can imagine. But what makes Tedrich's case particularly interesting is that he could not simply wake up from his nightmares. The only way to escape was to fight his way towards the deepest darkest part of his subconscious and defeat the terrors that make him fear the night.

Its been about a year since I've posted and update. Sadly I can't say that I've gotten much work done on the mod. I was working at Crystal Dynamics for about half that time and I now have a sweet job at Infinity Ward working on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Unfortunately after a full day of doing level design at work, it is hard to find time or motivation to work on my own projects. So until further notice development of The Nightmare Chronicles will be on hiatus. I do have plans to eventually finish the game. It has been a labor of love and I would feel terrible just abandoning the project. Someday Tedrich will be able to fight through his nightmares with you, I just don't know when that will be.
Wow, excellent concept, I'm definitely watching this one!
Nice work man, nice to see another 1 man designer haha. Loving the visual style and textures are looking very smooth :) Yea the visual style is awesome. I wanna play :)
Oi, sorry for the doubleposting, but something just struck me ... You're doing all this alone? Singlehandedly?
yeah, pretty much :P
It's hard to find good help these days, which is why I'm also working on a mod... roughly by myself.
Guys, to be honest .. If i was you, i'd go indie with something as incredible as this! - It's looking like a stand-alone game already, and i'd gladly buy this for steam any day!
It's one of those awesome games that lift itself above the gray and boring reality that is gaming nowaday (And it reminds me of classics like Grim Fandango and Psychonauts)
Anything that is compareable to both Psychonauts & Grim Fandango is already an amazing game even before it's released.
What interests me about the story is.. can it be resolved at the end? you say:
"The only thing that made him truly unique was the horrible dreams that plagued him night after night. Every time he shut his eyes he was faced with the most terrifying events one can imagine.... The only way to escape was to fight his way towards the deepest darkest part of his subconscious and defeat the terrors that make him fear the night."
This kind of implies it's an endless cycle... which would make for quite a depressing ending... I dunno. I'm not criticsing... just wondering
Well I can't give away the ending, that would be cheating.
Excellent looking mod... You've officially captured my attention. Keep up the quality work...
