Story In Development:
When Mortewood was chosen by the U.S. Government as the first town in America to receive a test for a cure for Cancer, named Project H.O.P.E, naturally the citizens were overjoyed. They thought of it as a blessing from God. But what happens if this so called ‘blessing' becomes a curse? What happens if the cure evolves into a much more terrifying disease? And what the hell are you supposed to do when you’re stranded inside a town full of hungry side effects? Commander Eric Slade will soon find out what happens when gene manipulation goes wrong, and what the consequences of playing God are. With the help of a massive arsenal of weapons, plenty of ammunition, and an old man wielding a shotgun, Slade will have to fight his way to survival and escape Mortewood before the town is ‘purged’. Oh, and did I mention there will be plenty of blood thirsty zombies, psychos bred by the horrors they have seen and the US Armed Forces to deal with as well?
Welcome to Mortewood, twinned with Hell.

This is the first update in a long time. Too long actually.
But finally I've taken the time to explain well.. everything. Starting from the big bang, to evolution to eventually were we are now. Or about the mod?
Basically I announced I would be taking a break from the mod to work on 1187. 1187 was one of the most fun projects to work on, create and play and enjoy myself. As I spent time working on 1187 my university course was heating up, coming to the second year were shit was about to get real. So I wrapped up 1187 and took breaks from that project as-well.
My project in Uni was to create a game in groups, I took this very seriously as I wanted to put my best effort into the game and create a game from scratch, instead of a mod. So with 1187 coming to a releasable version, and my Uni project just starting I threw ALL my time into that. This project was a strain on modding as I has somehow managed to develop a much better social life, with new and old friends, a new girlfriend and life was just the most awesome. Then 1187 was released and I continued to have time only for my Uni project and my personal life.
This went on until about 8 months ago when I was approached by a new opportunity, to work on one of the greatest projects ever, with some of the greatest developers ever. It was something I could not pass up. So with Mortewood on the waiting list, 1187 and 1187 co-op on the list and my Uni project at the top of the list I decided to take on Contagion.
So since the last update I've left the 1187 team, Mortewood is just still there. I still show friends, do minor changes when I learn new things about the source engine but I've become a lot better at what I do. Making a game from scratch has taught me a lot of new things, things which I've applied to Contagion and will one day apply to Mortewood. But for now, along with starting a third year at Uni, social life and a small summer project I'm working on because it's something I've wanted to do for a long time (I won't get into this summer project just yet).
-- SUMMARY --
If the above was too much to read how about this: I'm sorry there have been no updates, no messages, no reasoning. This project means so much to me and I will never let it drop. In the future I will make it, whether it be a full game or mod of this version of the source engine or hopefully a newer one if Valve would be so kind haha. (Mortewood will ALWAYS be free)
So for those who've stuck around. Focus on Contagion, or my unannounced project when it gets announced. Mortewood will NEVER die. It just may take longer than you want before it's finished or released. But one day, it will be worth it.
I have toyed with the idea of releasing what I have now. But you will all be solely disappointed.
So well yeah. Let the insults flow in, It's hard to work on a project this size now with Uni and social and large projects like Contagion and I should have seen this coming, but in reality. How could I know i'd be so lucky in the future haha.
Thanks to all who stuck by and still have hope. It may be a long wait, but it will always be worth it. There are plenty of games coming out that will fill the void, Dead Island and Contagion should fill those gaps.
Thanks all, seeya laters! :)

nope this mod is dead.
will this ever be released?
are u gonna release this about 2~3 year?
that will not suppose to happen rly
Can you please realese this before christmas
hmmm i might be able to meet the owner of this mod and get his autograph lol since i live roughly 5 miles away from him lmao
Funny thing is, that some people still think modding is done in one week. To create a mod is much more complex than people think and to create such a high-quality mod is NOT done in some month, it takes time!
Remember that before you even start to think about creating a mod!
you might not like it but WhiteOrchidea is right. Originally the release date was Summer 2008. Then extended to 2010, then 2011. It's gonna be a while so just stop following the mod for now and check in, lets say, every 2 months? that's what I do and that works fine.
Stop hoping and hoping and HOPING. It won't happen for a long time. It looks as if it would be the worlds best mod. But it's not coming out anytime soon.
I haven't checked on this mod for like 9 months, I don't think repeating this process is best if you want us to stop hoping that one day this mod will have some type of reputation other than DEAD.
Development of a quality mod like Mortewood Plaza would take years, especially when it's only being developed by a single person who somehow found the time to do so in his busy, everyday life. But you know what? It will definitely be worth the wait.
nude? give the man a rest lol.. he has to map, script, model, sound, much more... so dont stand there and complain about the mod isnt beta released.
you sir are not smart in better words. You were making and still are making it alone i got disapointed of no more room in hell becouse it was faster, lamer, boringer work as mortewood plaza and stop pretending that youre sucha god in modifications and invite poaple in this goddamn work if you will. AND STOP MAKING OTHER MODS AND FINISH THIS PEACE OF art please...
