by the looks of it you no longer have one shield that covers all, your shield is split into smaller sections, which regenerate individually.

Actually, it's showing that instead of shields regenerating by themselves, you can enter a region and have them regenerate their, without growing anywhere else, acting like a health or ammo droid.

So basically if you have low health when you fight your way to an enemy CP and clear it... No hope for shields, if another one spawns you're screwed. xD
