Hello,

I was wondering if there was a possibility to add a mode which could be activated though the configuration tool which would increase the damage of all of the weapons by some percentage, such as 25% or so. I would like such a addition as I believe that it would make the gameplay more reminiscent of the Mass Effect games, and would make taking cover even more important. Please let me know your opinions on this idea.

While I would personally absolutely love something like this, there sadly isn't really any easy way to do it. :( I'm still looking into it, though. ;)

Hello Marth,

Thank you for the reply. While I do not know much about Battlefront 2 modding, while I was modding the Battle Front Extreme mod source files I noticed this line of text in the weapon ordnance odf files, "BonusAmplification = "0.25" //how much more damage will be done when team_bonus_blaster_amplification is on." This allows for the use of the "enhanced blaster" bonus through the fake console. I was wondering if a similar method could be used for your configuration utility?

Hmm, so I do already have "Hardcore" listed as one of the available difficulties, which basically just sets the AI aggressiveness/difficulty... Do you think I should have this bonus be activated through some other parameter? Perhaps something along the lines of "Extreme Mode" or something? (lol)

Edit: Heho, I should totally pull a Square Enix and call it "Proud Mode." Such a cool name for a difficulty... :D

To clarify, I was not thinking about implementing this as a difficulty, but rather as a mode, which could be separately enabled through the configuration utility on the gameplay tab (such as shield functionality) which would affect everyone (both the ai and the human players on both teams). This way people have the option of experiencing the fast times to kill present in the Mass Effect Games while also being able to choose the balance currently present in the mod, which is excellent in its own right.

I can also see this enhanced blaster bonus being used to make the game even more difficult in single player by only applying it to the team the player is playing against, although that seems like it may become too hard. :P After all, doesn't the ai already cheat when you increase the difficulty? I would personally like to have the different difficulties only change how "smart" the ai is with regards to its tactics. I think that this should be presented in the configuration utility on the gameplay tab as a difficulty modifier, which could be stacked with any of the current difficulties to make it harder. On the other hand, you could just made it a feature which is always enabled in the "Insane" difficulty. :)
