For the full game you need a Justine DLC! Jake Enslin is an occult writer on a mission to investigate everything spooky. He has visited many haunted places during his career, gathering writing material for his books. Enslin’s next target is mansion #1408 – a rental mansion where it is rumored that over 50 people had met their ends. What will he meet during his stay?
Pretty good! I liked the map and lay out. I found the movement kind of annoying. But good idea! And the ending should have been more specific. How should he have conquered his fear. I didn't know exactly what the fear was. But other than those couple of things, it was worth playing!
So... What to say about this mod. Lets sum up:
+ good maps and details
+ great ambience, it is really atmospheric
+ it is just really interesting
- its short
- gameplay is quite weak point, I cannot interact with many things, there are no real puzzles or chases.
- there are no real monsters, you cannot die and probably the only think that can scare you is exploding closet.
Overall: I like the usage of carpets and things like ticking clocks and cinematic story but if I can advise, next time just try to add some feel of danger and make it more exciting :)
An interesting story with an intriguing premise. The levels were brilliantly detailed with fantastic lighting. I was particularly impressed at the many ways that you adapted certain objects for the decorating of rooms.
But there were a few issues. First thing I noticed was how slow I was moving, it's boring and tedious just to get from point A to point B. Check points would be nice as well since I died near the end. So if I wanted to just replay the last mission I would have to play through the whole game again. Doing the same thing over again is not fun especially when I'm moving at a snail's pace. Some might justify this by saying that this CS is short, but to be honest, if the game has more than 1 level you should have auto saves.
Speaking of which: This is a short CS...and there is nothing wrong with that. CSs don't have to be long to be good. The music really works well, except, at times, the music was too bombastic for what was happening on the screen. A few other minor nitpicks but ultimately I thought that there was a good amount of talent that was put into this CS.
