And for the very end, it's worth repeating again TLD is primarily based on Tolkien's books, not on Peter Jackson's movies. So no need to ask about plate armour, uruk-hai crossbows, odd elven blades and other movie inventions.

We will be deleting/ignoring comments/questions that are flaming, rude or about LOTR movies stuff, Warband, bugreports and tech support. These have all been addressed in the manual and forums a million times before.

But I wish someone had a guide listing the strongest to weakest units for each Faction. Listing the strongest in the final tier only.

A faction's best arsenal and armor list would be awesome too. Although I do enjoy sticking to my own faction's weapons, I'd find the guide useful anyway, just to know what I'm looking for within my faction.

look at the troop trees here: Drive.google.com

It lists the stats. However, im not sure how updated that is. It should still give you an overview of which troop is strong.

1) Download the main TLD file here: Moddb.com
2) Download the Warband Compat patch here: Moddb.com
3) While that's downloading, read the manual here: Synnaskole.sweb.cz
4) Now that you have both files downloaded, copy the TLD folder into your Warband\Modules folder.
5) Afterwards, copy the contents of the Warband compat patch you downloaded into your TLD folder. Overwrite when asked.
6) Download Swyter's Quick Fixes here: Drive.google.com
---Text files go into your TLD folder, the wargs.brf go into TLD\Resources folder.
7) Start Warband, select TLD from the drop down.

---NOTE: The fixes will introduce a strange text issue ("wazupdawg"). Ignore them for now.

8) To see whats being worked on, check out Swyter's Trello here: Trello.com

---That should be it. Note that a patch is currently being worked on, but I do not know when it is going to arrive.

Optional: 9) Have fun!

So aside from a "Fire at my Command" option, I would also love to have a "Focus Your Fire Upon The Nearest Troll" option with Gandalf's voice. We need this. I know arrows barely damage them, and even only if they're facing your archers, but it's worth it. It'd most definitely help with throwers.

I've seen more than once trolls being brought down by archers, Surrealbeliefs does it a lot in his Let's Plays.

Such a command might be possible, but unless you find a coder willing to try...

Is it possible to extend the map west to Rivendell and the Shire and Arnor and all that? or at least in the Warband version? the map feels small compared to maps from other mods like the Europe map in Anno Domini 1257. also, i feel like the map could have more random villages in it and whatnot, but thats just me.

Mod is focused on the War of the Ring. War never approached Rivendell, Shire, Arnor, and all that.

Nevertheless, Mod is open source. You (or somebody else) can do whatever you want to do with it. There are no more active devs adding features to the mod. Right now, Swyter is just completing the port to Warband and fixing the bugs caused by the port.

To quote Swyter: "Between summer time and nasty RL obligations I haven't done much on this front. Been looking into getting TLD into the recently added Steam Workshop catalog for M&B Warband, tho. There's a 200MB size limit and that limits it to smaller mods for the moment.

Also, Warband has been ported to Linux and Mac too. We'll see if we need to do any compatibility tweaks to make the mod work on those platforms.

CppCoder said he had a lot of free time to mod TLD in summer, and this card is the kind of work he likes to do and I find tiring, but hasn't appeared yet. :("

This mod is utterly incredible! Everywhere I look I see the four years it took to make this world. From the orcs to the elven armor. The detail is staggering, every scene lovingly crafted, almost every armor textured to perfection. +5 The mod is well balanced and the immersion is total and complete. It immediately reminded me of an Elder-Scrolls Lord of the Rings game. +5 Now sadly there are the bugs. Several quests are broken and some of the enviromental textures (elven bridges and Gondorian stone…

Great graphics side(excepts from some minor issues like terrible Isengard buildings), new shaders (windy flora!) bus scripting siede is comeplatly failed compared to that what dev team promised. Gameplay becomes booring too soon.
