Set In the turbulent times of the Cold War in 1983, a robot invasion force has emerged and begun annihilating human life all around the world. The militant groups, factions and countries that were once hell bent on killing each other soon found themselves forging allegiances to counter the new threat. The game is set 9 months after the original invasion and the world is just a husk of what it once was....
A team orientated multiplayer deathmatch game based on the 2007 Orange Box Source engine. The unique selling point is that one side faces playing the game in an unforgiving ultra-realistic setting whilst the opposing team is playing in a stylized setting designed to wean in new audiences. The environments and GUI will look different dependent on which team's perspective is being played.
The theory to the unique selling point is that it allows very experienced players to play against new comers in a balanced match, as the new comers will have advantages over the other side through the use of the stylization as an aid.
Characters and environments will be modular. Meaning that resistance will be split into 4 classes (2 in this vertical slice) and each class will be tailored to their map. (i.e. The Assault character is an Israeli Steel Worker turned Militant and his environment, iv_steel, is a steel works/foundry). The environments however will be heavily altered by the invasion force for use by them.
