The Incredible Half-Life 2 Machine is an idea I've been pottering about with for about 8 years now (based on the modified-dates of some of my files).

It's the idea of recreating the machines found in each level of The Incredible Machine with Half-Life 2.

Visit Geniac.net for a bit more information and other boring stuff like that. I have some comparison piccies there, and I'll post them here when I can, too.

I understand that this will be based on intellectual property that is not my own. The Incredible Machine was developed by Jeff Tunnell Productions and published in 1992 by Dynamix, a Sierra On-Line company. As those three companies no longer exist, I am attempting to contact the current owner of Sierra, Vivendi Universal Games. I'll post any updates in that regard as I can.

Now, to pre-empt statements like this...
"Dood! It would be so cool if you could put stuff together and make cool inventions and stuff!!!!1!"

Whoa, Nelly! This is NOT a fully-playable Half-Life 2 version of The Incredible Machine, nor is this anything like Garry's Mod. This is a re-creation of the construction of the machines found in the game, with the illusion that the machine is doing what it appears to be doing. At this point in the project, neither interaction with the machine pieces nor build-your-own-mode is available.

I wasn't intending to sound bitchy; I was just being goofy. *shrug*
I will make a news post when it comes far enough to have other people to test. Thanks.

zenarion, I'm sure you'd be able to find it for download somewhere, yes. Sorry for being vague, but I'm trying to keep as legally acceptable as possible here.

kricon, I'm not petty that a slightly negative comment would eliminate somebody from a beta test.

::idiot::, thanks!

"Bad" in a Michael Jackson "ooh, I'm bad!" way, or "bad" in a "I deem that your mod already sucks even though it's still in a design and testing phase and I've only seen two tiny sample pics" way? Thanks for visiting, anyhow.
