Description

"Udeval came out onto the high sqare with the dawn sun behind him. To the right rose the temple, high domed, to the left was the keep, its white-grey walls sheer and impassive. Directly in front of him, at the western end of the Square, stood a raised platform on which were set fifteen stone seats, the thrones of the Merchants. Udeval made his way immediately towards the Keep, crossing the intricately paved and mosaic covered floor. He was the only one present in the Square, but for the occasional guard, and the vast emptiness of the space was somehow eerie." - Excerpt from the Tale of Udeval.

The Southern Kingdom is ruled by fifteen Merchant Kings; twelve who sit on the council and three High Kings who have the ultimate say in any decision. They carry out their deliberations in public, in the Great Market Square which sits atop the Hill of the Port Isle, upon this dais.
