  1. What are the planned factions for the mod?
    - Gondor
    - Isengard
    - Mordor
    - Misty Mountains
    - Lothlorien
    - Erebor
    - Rivendell
    - Mirkwood
    - Haradwaith
    - Rohan
  2. Will Angmar/Arnor be a standalone faction?
    No. The mod is set during the final years of the Third Age, a time where both Angmar and Arnor are long gone.
  3. Would you consider adding more/different factions than the ones you have planned?
    No. We have weighed our selection carefully and will not change it.
  4. When will the mod be released?
    Current version can be found in our Files section.
  5. Can this mod be installed alongside Edain?
    Yes.
  6. Why did you base this off of 2.02?
    Because 2.02 is the best available patch for RotWK. It fixes bugs, improved stability, and contains dozens of amazing new maps.
  7. What will this mod do to Create-A-Hero?
    Currently we’re planning to give them better art. Further plans are TBD.
  8. I’m getting an error/crash/problem!
    Take a look at our common issues and installation guide.
  9. Will there be a campaign?
    Yes, eventually.
  10. I have a suggestion for your mod, where can I post it?

  11. Will you eventually add in BFME1 style gameplay?
    No, we’ll be keeping the free-build style.
  12. I want to play the mod but I don’t have BFME2 or RotWK installed.

    Be an active and positive presence in our community and we will consider you when we are in need of testers.

Since I'm not seeing an Easterling faction on the list, will you be including them with Mordor or with Haradwaith (making Haradwaith more of an "Evil Men" team than actual Harad)?

Also can we expect in Haradwaith anything "exotic" and maybe more of Umbar Black Numenoreans (since Angmar will not be featured and lore wise they lived in Umbar rather than Angmar) other than the standard Corsairs ? Of course we are standby for more of your anouncements

One more question (to add to the F.A.Q):

Does the v2.02 of R.O.T.W.K cause indescrepencies with The 'Edain' Mod?

I'm looking forward to the release, and personally prefer the free build mode to the B.F.M.E 1 game-play, so thank you for that, and this most excellent mod.

Edain does not support 2.02 - they seem to consider it to be some lousy/illegal fan patch due to 2.02 coming with a no-CD option (which we think is perfectly reasonable 10 years after it's original release and with no means of purchasing a new copy).

However, 2.02 comes with a simple launcher to turn it off and on, as well as some other handy options. So you can just do that.

Yeah, it does seam reasonable, 'Edain' team is sometimes too 'by-the-book' for me.
(with the game(s) being abandonware,and all)

On a related note:

Does v2.02 of R.O.T.W.K and subsequently the (A.O.T.R) mod support the B.F.M.E II v1.08 'Special Edition', or must it be on the official patch v1.06 in order to work/integrate properly?

Well 1.08 affects mostly the original BFME 2 gameplay. It does not affect ROTWK. However, if you inend to play with 2.02, it would be preferable to stick your BFME 2 with the last official patch (1.06), because if you have both active 1.08 and 2.02 it may not allow you launch ROTWK with some error.

Yes, I know, it doesn't affect R.O.T.W.K,
but I just wanted to 'streamline' the whole process if possible.

Guess switching back and forth is the best we can do, for now.

P.S: Although you could go the 'Contra 009' route and have the launcher attach/separate the files on the game launch/exit.("cut out the middleman", as it were...)

Hey i'm not sure if your looking but i would love to be a tester and my pc will play anything out to date like its bitch. and i have played every working mod for this game!. so if your willing i'd be happy to be a tester and keep you updated each day with my experiences of functionality ect ect.

Are you planning on releasing multiple factions at the same time for example do lothlorien and erebor in one update or are you going to do it one at a time?

I know you probably haven't started rohan yet, but when you eventually do Rohan, are you thinking of doing three hunters, if so would it be a power or would they be recruitable heroes, if you make them recruitable it may be an idea to make it kinda like orophin and rumil in the Edain mod, have one purchase, maybe make it 6000 resources and have all 3 as separate units with unique powers

i think its funny how you guys said u will release factions when you feel comfortable enough to make them public..... and yet people are still asking when they will be released,

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say a huge thank-you for all the work you've put into this mod!

BFME has been a must-have installation on every PC I've owned since it came out, what 14 / 15 years ago? It's one of the few games I can never get bored of and will always keep coming back to. By sheer dumb luck I stumbled across your mod whilst browsing BFME 2 YouTube videos (I didn't even know there was a modding community for this game!) and decided to give it a go...

The thought and level of detail that has gone into everything so far is mind-blowing! It has that perfect combination of feeling like I'm playing a brand new game for the first time, yet still having the familiarity of BFME. The new units, buildings, formations, powers, etc and the level of detail gone into their design and appearance is amazing - having seen the FAQ's and the other factions you have planned as well, I literally cannot wait to see it all in action.

In short, this mod is epic! Keep up the amazing work - you guys are legends!
