Which do you guys like better: the Isengard Wargs or the Gundabad Wargs? I think the latter is closer to the description in the books, but I like to think that the former is a breed unique to the Isengard area.

LordMaus What do you mean? I guess lore-wise there is no specific difference that Tolkien mentioned, but it's possible that there are different breeds of the same creature like the wolf like breed of the ones we see ridden by the Gundabad Orcs and the ones ridden by Isengard Orcs.

Actually I liked the Hobbit wargs over the Lotr wargs because they look much more terrifying.

Also remember that Saruman could crossbreed Orcs with Humans and Goblins or whatever to make a better version of the Uruk-hai, so it is possible that he could cross the original warg wolves with some other beast to get these traits. So yes, Isengarg should probably have the classic LOTR wargs and Misty Mountains the Gundabad breed. Also feels a lot better and accurate than Angmar's Wolf Riders, to be honest they look a bit stupid

Warg from The Hobbit like true wolf. But warg of Isengard, I think warg like hyena from Africa. Agree?

Sry for my late commment...maybe noone will read but maybe this is a good point of view. In my eyes both types of wargs are fitting their belonging faction in the ideational intention as a mount.

In the hobbit movie and book, as in books about earlier times (silmarillion) the wargs are more like something old, natural, like giant wolves...who could be compared more like their kings or firstborn like the giant eagles. also there is not told in the sources how they became that big and strong or why they became that intelligent.

The only thing that is told is that they are more like a sort of allies to the orcs, offering themselfes as mounts and comrades...what ever made them deciding this step whether or not it was their own choice or a pact forced by the (servants) of the dark lord.

So the design fits really properly.

In the LotR movies and the books the wargs are more described and designed like giant wardogs...who are used as mounts for uruks from saruman.

this in my eyes is a very fitting design, because saruman wanted to create a superior version of the dark lord in every aspect(eventhough he failed himself).
Like the uruks who should be superior to normal orks the same thing goes to wargs in my eyes.

so yes, both have their eligibility and are both welldone by you ;)
