The Great War is a modification for Company of Heroes meant to bring the war two decades earlier. This mod focuses on the later years of the First World War. Currently the two teams will be the British Expeditionary Force against the German Empire, however with time the team will try and bring some more nations in, such as France and Austria-Hungary. This mod will focus or realism but keep the game balanced enough to make it enjoyable. Things to look for in the mod are the famous artillery strikes and the infamous gas attacks. Trenches will provide vital cover for infantry while tanks will roll over the battlefield and instil fear into the enemy troops.

Camouflage patterns were widely experimented on in WW1. One of the most widespread in the German Imperial Army was a pattern of lozenge in ochre and sand being painted over the initial Feldgrau, with a strip of black paint between.

Isn't Officer's should have a Helmet with a Horn?
After 1916 the spiked helmet or "Pickelhaube" was just used in parades and such as it didn´t offer a good protection.

Say if a grenade went off, you'd have better protection from the shrapnel with that than the pickelhaube
The spiked helmet you mentioned isn't made of metal. It's boiled leather or pressed cardboard with a brass point on top. Hardly more protective than a cap!
On the frontline an officer would be wearing the steel helmet (what the others are wearing on the picture) but were're keeping the visored cap for visual recognition.

Just a Question? those British will have SMG because i think during World War 1 only Germans have invented SMG, how will it be balanced and will there be Americans, and new voice sound like how the units speak in the game?
Ah, so by horns you meant the ventilation lugs on the side of the Stahlhelm? That's what the other soldiers are wearing in the screenshots. We're making the officer wear a Schirmmütze for visual diversity and recognition though. It's the same reason why our Pioniers are wearing a Feldmütze.
Now now, one question at a time. The British won't have SMGs. Those will be limited to the Germans, Italians (if we ever get to do them) and Austro-Hungarians.

Yes, he is.

The weapon used by the officer is randomly chosen between 3 different models; in this case it was the C93.
