more screenshots of the area51 s4 complex i am currently working on.
this is a pretty epic scene. i think the props on the ground in front of the player are unusually well-lit, and could stand to be darker. Or you can provide some adequate lighting to the brushwork in this area to compensate.
the lighting on the floors is the players torch.. again i think its my crappy graphics card altering the lighting here between screenshot and actual in game engine scene.. this i am looking into .. the screens come out alot darker than the actual engine scene.. its time i got a new card i think
moneY :(
It has nothing to do with graphics card. When you take a screenshot it will be pixel per pixel exactly as what is displayed on the screen. What makes the difference is if you use different monitor when you're playing and when you are browsing the internet.
Also consider that when you play such dark level your eye is adjusted to decipher the darker tones better. When you post an image to ModDB where there are some 100% white fields, backgrounds etc the dark image will look darker.
In general, if you view the image in fullscreen it will look better and closer to what the designer has intended.
