The Four Ages is a mod for the Battle for Middle Earth 2 based on the world of the books of J.R.R. Tolkien, where you'll be able to revive the best stories of the Silmarillion.

The Factions will be: Elves, Men, Dwarves and Angband. Every faction will have minifactions. So you could create, for example, playing with Angband, Tol Sirion or the Evil Men.

The battles will be much more bigger than now, not only because of higher cp, too because of the different ages you will have along the game. Since werewolves, Beorn, Balrogs, Morgoth, Feanor, Fingolfin, Finrod...

Some new interesting features have also been added, like camera inclinations, skyboxes, and a completely new working system for each faction.

It has been a long since the last time I posted something here. A lot has been done, and a lot still needs to be done. Angband has been totally finished, as the dwarven faction (although I said I'd not do it). The elven faction has been started (I'll explain how it works later) and I've added some interesting features as camera inclinations or new maps. I have also published a video, which I'll upload in the download section.

Let me start with the dwarves:

Post wrote:They are not like any other faction in BFME 2, a mountain is your main base (just like a bfme 1 castle) and you can build units in the main fortress or build exterior buildings.

Those exterior buildings (Based on Khazad-dum and Nogrod) can only be constructed in the cliffs, and they provide you upgrades, siege weapons and elite units.

Finally, the mod is compatible with the WOTR mode. Anyway, a map of Beleriand would be a very hard task to do, so I won't change it now and the Middle Earth's one will remain.

You can see screenshots in the image gallery.

Elves are quite different, although they're also different from the others factions:

When you start the game with the elves, you start with an unoperative fortress in which you can choose among four minifactions. Depending on
which minifaction you choose, you'll get different units, buildings and upgrades. Then, in your fortress, you'll be able to build the others
minifactions. In fact, I want to make it totally required to win the game, since factions like Gondolin won't get siege weapons or the economy
of nargothrond won't be very good.

The avaliable minifactions will be Nargothrond (finished) Doriath, Hithlum and Gondolin.
More information about them in and new screenshots in the gallery.

TheSpartan, I'd like to see you in our forums talking about that, to share your opinion with the other people of the team.

This is the coolest mod I've ever seen for BFMEII. I love everything about it except one thing. Whats with the smaller battalions? Thats one of the reasons I dont just go and play BFMEI. I mean bigger battalions is in my opinion the best improvement between BFMEI an II.

I agree with Random and Beren about the campaign thing. This is looking to be a great mod and I think that the ability to play in all eras of Middle Earth will be very fun. One question though, will heros still respawn, and when an era ends will all the heros and unit types die or just be unable to be rebuilt, but still be in service?

I agree, make the new campaigns the lowest priority, concentrate on making a skirmish/multiplayer mod and once everything else is done, then start on the campaign. Also, this is a great idea. I have always loved games where you work through the ages to advance in tech etc (Empire Earth is my fav in that category).

i hav 2 say team, u guys hav the best idea for a mod i hav seen in a long time or ever
I agree that u shudnt hav almost completely killed off evil, maybe u shud split it into evil men and saurons forces or sumthing?

2nd, dont concentrate too much on the campaign, many mods hav died when modders cannot find the time to make the amazing campaign they had planned. Get all the units and teams , maybe maps if u r doing them and all necessities don b4 u start on the campaign is my advice... im not much of a modder myself but i jus see how people let their gr8 mods go down the drain.

Gr8 Mod guys DONT LET IT DIE!

first of all sweet i am the first to post. second of all this is a hugely great idea. what this game lacks is the ability to lead people into macking mods. the story indicates you ahve eradicated evil (quite quickly i must add) and so you dont feel and urge to find out more. this mod should do the trick for more people to make mods. GREAT IDEA :)
