Although we may have stopped developing The Forgotten, we have not left the modding community and we most definitely have not stopped modding. In fact, right this very moment we are working on a new Half Life 2 project, which will be announced to the public in the near future.

Hey folks,
we at Blackout Studios wanted to let you guys know what has been going on behind our locked doors. We're still working on various design documents, re-fining some of our earlier work, rewriting stories, rewriting characters, rewriting features, doing tests on new features, etc. One feature we're specifically excited about is the dynamic day/night transitional feature for the Source engine. Yes, you read right.
We're currently hard at work programming and testing the feature so it will work the way we have always intended it to work. So far things are looking quite promising and we are hoping to release a video showcasing the feature in action after the next few tests. Fingers crossed it'll be sooner than expected.
On other news, we thought we should show you a little bit of a
concept we had created for one of our projects, we're not telling you which one though ;). In any case, this little fella to our right is called the Ravager. It was lovingly created by OldYogurt. However, love or kindness is that last thing that would cross this beast's mind. Driven by nothing but the instict to hunt and kill, Ravagers have become somewhat of a myth as those that are unlucky enough to meet one of them, don't tend to live to tell the tale. This short excerpt from the respective project should give you an idea of the Ravager's feared capabilities.
We hope you enjoyed this small insight into what's been going on behind the scenes at Blackout Studios . If you want to know more, and stay updated, why don't you Track This Group?
Until next time,
The Blackout Studios Team

Nice to see another UK setting for a mod (Dark Source and 1985 being the other two I can think of). Will there be a Cathedral (the name is obviously a take on Winchester or Worcester, both of which have Cathedrals).
looks this mod is coming along nicely and i like the screen shots
it seemse really cool, but why would they build fortifications and quarantine a city because of asbestos? asbestosis isnt infectious, and theres no reason to quarantine a city.
just a little post there.
other than that, seems absolutely awesome.
Thank you for your post, we definitely appreciate every feedback we can get. But to clarify and answer your question, Meer Enterprises didn't quarantine and build fortifications in the city due to the asbestos, but due to what they had planned with the city. The asbestos was just the front of their operations. I hope that helps :) Anything else I could say to further more clarify would be a spoiler to the story of the game play :P
next goal is 150 :P..only 42 to go hehe. But yeah, well done everyone. Lets make sure the other two parts of this media release will be delivered with just as much enthusiasm!
We now have over 100 watchers, well done guys!
Kick ass guys, keep it up.
weholey crap, mod looks good. pls don't die! almost every horror mod dies :'(

I'm a HUGE fan of the horror genre games.. I espeacialy like that story plays an important part in the making of this game and not just game play. Cool story too!
