The second Sino-Japanese war is a part of WWII, but for quite a long time, the most fierce Asian battlefield was forgotten……

Because of the war and widespread disease and famine, China suffered 35 million casualties, 20 million of which died. The war in East Front lasted for 4 years, in Europe 6 years, in China, 8 years since Marco Polo Bridge Incident and the war fully broke out in Mid-1937, but in fact, Chinese never gave up resistance for 14 years, after Mukden Incident in 1931……

We cherishes the memory of the martyrs, and we will never forget the foreign friends who helped us to win the liberation, no matter they're American, Russian, or German……

The Far East mod create no new faction, just replace Allies with NRA (National Revolutionary Army) , and replace Axis with IJA (Imperial Japanese Army). But the units, equipments, and doctrines are totally changed. Under the premise of trying to keep a neutral view and balancing, we want to show and get more attention about our nation's effort in the war.

Currently, the Far East is still in Beta testing, we are aware that there are still lots of bugs and problems such as models, AI, and so on, many elements are still WIP, but we will keep on our working on this mod, on this sacred war.

Beta version of Far East Mod. We have tested it on steam version and it runs Ok. We are not sure if it can also compatible for the other version.

I would like to report a crash, it only seems to happen when I play as Japan and pick the first or second command tree, then I play for awhile and I crash to desktop with a relic crash report.

I love the premise, but if I noticed a few things.

The auto-fire on the artillery makes it pretty devastating, both to the enemy and my own troops. I'd love to see that return to it's default mode. as far as cooldown, that's a balancing issue that I leave to the mod creators.

The only problem I have with balance is how weak all the units feel. The Japanese armour seems to be vastly inferior to some of the the '30s tanks the Chinese are importing. Japanese armour was far from the best in the war, but it was at least more modern than suggested. We even designed the O-I prototypes (, which is heavily rumored to have been combat-tested in China.

The last thing is simply that the suicide bombers came off as a bit offensive; it's not that Japan did not deploy any suicide units, but Kamikaze means "divine wind" and refers exclusively to the special attack squadrons of the Navy and Air Force.
It might be more suitable to refer to these troops as Gyokusai units, or perhaps Banzai units. Something to that effect would be more accurate and depict the sacrifice of the troops in a more honorable and acceptable light.

Considering the mod is admitted to be far from finished, it looks very good, and plays surprisingly well. I am very interested in this theatre of war, and would like to thank the team for all the hard work that has undoubtedly gone into the creation of this mod thusfar.

Kamikaze is only a placeholder name for the Suicide team. Codes for non-explosive Katana teams and a Suicide Bomber armed with a rifle (replacing Wehemacht Goliath) already exist in game, so expect changes.

I think it's because Japanese tanks have riveted armor, and the riveted FT is also pretty shoddy against explosive weapons too. The O-I is practically unbuildable, unmoveable and unkillable.

It's because the base still has a build queue. All you have to do is to capture every spot and wait for the AI to use up its resources.

All-in-all, this mod is VERY well done. The animations are very nice, the new features such as Melee combat and Artillery-towing are welcomed additions. The Imperial Japanese Army is well-done in the mod, and are very enjoyable to use using most-any Doctrine. The Doctrines are also very well-done, giving new units to each Nation from each Doctrine, whether it be a M4 Sherman for the NRA or a Type 89 I-Go~otsu for the Japanese. The weapons are all well-done as well, especially the Kijiro Nambu Type…
