The second Sino-Japanese war is a part of WWII, but for quite a long time, the most fierce Asian battlefield was forgotten……

Because of the war and widespread disease and famine, China suffered 35 million casualties, 20 million of which died. The war in East Front lasted for 4 years, in Europe 6 years, in China, 8 years since Marco Polo Bridge Incident and the war fully broke out in Mid-1937, but in fact, Chinese never gave up resistance for 14 years, after Mukden Incident in 1931……

We cherishes the memory of the martyrs, and we will never forget the foreign friends who helped us to win the liberation, no matter they're American, Russian, or German……

The Far East mod create no new faction, just replace Allies with NRA (National Revolutionary Army) , and replace Axis with IJA (Imperial Japanese Army). But the units, equipments, and doctrines are totally changed. Under the premise of trying to keep a neutral view and balancing, we want to show and get more attention about our nation's effort in the war.

Currently, the Far East is still in Beta testing, we are aware that there are still lots of bugs and problems such as models, AI, and so on, many elements are still WIP, but we will keep on our working on this mod, on this sacred war.

Beta version of Far East Mod. We have tested it on steam version and it runs Ok. We are not sure if it can also compatible for the other version.

bug: when the japanese use nepal or flame grenades the fire continue burning after the effect disappear, burn anything you have on the space where the bomb was used, soldiers, emplacement etc...

Would you ever consider adding Japanese Special Naval Landing Forces (SNLF or 'Kaigun Tokubetsu Rikusentai')? These might make excellent assault troops as a replacement for your "bright division" troops, especially since many units were sent to China to gain experience against the Nationalist forces.

Armed with new Type 96 LMGs and Type 100 submachine guns, they'd be an awesome sight (Rangers/KCH hybrid).

They also made use of the MP 18 and MP 28, which from the few gameplay videos I've seen, are already in the mod!

They're in the mod last I checked. The call in for the far right command tree if you play as IJA. Calls either them or some southern army guys.

Ah! I haven't played yet, unfortunately, as word on the Relicnews forums was that the mod was down due to some copyright issues! Clearly those have been resolved; I just need to clear some file space (I only have ~24 CoH mods installed, that's not too many is it?) to fit the little bugger in.

What if you split the difference? Keep the free fire, but add a hold fire command and a barrage ability? Make it more like a mortar, since some of us like the free fire.

let me explain you why you need put a manual artillery fire with munition cost....

the artillery can destroy and damage tanks without mention that is powerful ...

you can destroy anything with this artillery and including suffer friendly fire because the enemy can be close to your tank and your artillery continue shooting causing damage or destroying your own tank or including your own soldiers....

other thing is you can positioned a sniper with camo (undetectable) near the enemy base and use the free artillery to destroy the enemy HQ....

that is why the artillery should have manual fire, munitio cost and reload time....

I would agree but, other than for balance, I find the whole "Artillery only fires a few shots and only when you tell it to and costs 150 munition" to be kind of annoying and unrealistic. More so since you can only have two guns, 6 if you play IJA with the far left command tree using the call-ins, its not really all that overpowered. Coupled with the relatively short range, all that you need to do is make it less effective against tanks. Being able to bombard a base using a sniper as a spotter is a pretty good tactic.

the 150 ammunition price is too much elevated... I think 30 munition per 6 rounds X 2 artillery (12 shots per 60 munition cost) and reload time maybe 50 seconds...

the artillery in the war never is firing all the time, remember they are really behind to the front line ( they can not see the objetive) they need coordenates given by the front line to open fire...

I think this game is not finished yet (this is a beta test) on the pictures there are weapons that are not including in this game, not yet.

All-in-all, this mod is VERY well done. The animations are very nice, the new features such as Melee combat and Artillery-towing are welcomed additions. The Imperial Japanese Army is well-done in the mod, and are very enjoyable to use using most-any Doctrine. The Doctrines are also very well-done, giving new units to each Nation from each Doctrine, whether it be a M4 Sherman for the NRA or a Type 89 I-Go~otsu for the Japanese. The weapons are all well-done as well, especially the Kijiro Nambu Type…
