The Delta Sector is a modification for FarCry which will meet the highest quality expectations and will use the full capacity of the Cryengine 1. There will be new weapons, new vehicles and new enemies in this mod. You are a member of a special forces team. It's your job to check what's happen in eastern Europe, because many military forces accumulate in one area.

The final version of The Delta Sector modification for FarCry has been released. This mod features three singleplayer missions, a multiplayer mode and has dramatically improved graphics. The multiplayer mode got a completely new gameplay. It's much more action, excitement and fun.
The player is able to fight with 8 different weapons against soldiers, helicopters or aliens. Every single singleplayer mission got it's own completely unique design and environment.
Recently the new Patch 1.1 is avaible too. The Patch for the Delta Sector mod contains some Bugfixes and is improving the multiplayer mode. We added the FFA mode to all existing Delta Sector maps and added 2 completely new FFA/TDM maps. (called TDS_densewoods, CRYPACK_4)
The Assault mode is available in TDS now too. But at the moment there are no maps. So it would be appreciated, if some good modders take the time to create one. The shortcut to run the mod editor and all presets to create your own Delta Sector maps are included and can be found in the 'TheDeltaSector' directory.

OMG 10/10, the best mod I've had the pleasure to play in years. I love how hard it is to even locate the enemies. I love the sneaking around the jungle. The beginning is perfect, the whole naked insertion into the mission zone. It is great that the rocky hills and stuff can be explored and climbed. This mod made me feel like I was playing a hunting game, with your prey in the cross hairs and you behind cover... waiting for that perfect shot. This mod made me content that I'm not out there myself. The weapons are just fine, I was so happy to find the silenced AK, and the alien weapon was very unique, It took me till the credits to notice that those 'jet packs', were actually those alien drone things. Awesome job, I really could smell the morning dew, feel the mist in the air, how cold it is, and smell of burning debris every time I shot down a hind. I'm looking forward to another release, after Insertion It just feels incomplete when the credits roll at the end and your still anticipating whats next. This mod is really hard even on normal difficulty(but I'm not complaining)and that is great. A bug may be present when you first encounter the flying droids or what not, when I shoot down one of the last droids I fly a million feet in the air and collide into the earth with a crushing death, so to pass it I just let the soldiers deal with them. I love this mod and much luck in the future.
Looks interesting but I can't be bothered to find FC and isntall it again.
all i have to say is hail to the king, i was so tired of easy FPS games and this did the trick ok ok actually it IS really hard, but if im not mistaken there are only 3 big levels, i think its a good reason why it should be that hard, so you can keep on going through this really amazing scenarios, i've been playing as hard as it gets and all the things 1c0n mentioned are right, you need to be really sneeky and learn to fire well cuz the weapons feel quite different than any other game ive played, ghost recon 1, graw, unreal, or anything, they are not as accurate, but the only real problem is that yes they can see you in all that deep jungle when you cant see shet,
Ok, played it for a long time before reaching the end of the first act. Because the hard/impossible part is the first act (6-7 hours to pass it for me). From the second act you can see the enemies a little more clearly as in the third, where the vegetation is a little less dense. And in both act the game becomes less frustrating and really gorgeous to see. Yes, as Davuvnik says, it's an interesting mod, but first level must be better balanced and with more save point and possibly with a little less enemies. And removing the killing forbidden zones would be a nice present: this is a nasty way to say "Thou shall not pass from here"...
that is like really unrealistic and plus their accuarcy versus yours its really evident specially when you try to snipe (i havent found a really good sniper gun im only at level 2 at the beinging) in prone the bullet just dont hit the target you need to shot several times, i mean its really hard but entertaining, the AI should be like shooting more and missing, it looks like they are all professional snipers with predators vision, one thing i'd like to pinpoint is that you can use your surroundings in your favor, forget hiding in bushes that doesnt work the best thing is to prone in a high level above some rocks and snipe away, i really felt like some professional climber climbing those rocks xD, very good mod and if you activate \r_hdrrendering 11 wow prepare to be blown away even more, hope everyone gives a chance to this mod, plus just one more thing i saw, as tough as they are, they are also a little dumb, they move sometimes but "sometimes" you see them they shoot but they stand still if you hide that gives you time to reload guns and move your head just to shootem, or they scream orders that dont comply i remember hearing "left forward" or right something like that but i was behind a wall and they never came, so i started to kill em one by one just by looking sideways, and they never move forward or flank me, but all in all... it looks and feels like a really professional game it rules!
Oh boy... I've said it's frustrating? No. I'ts impossible.
If I put out my nose from a rock they kill me.
If I run they kill me.
If I'm Garret the master thief by raiding every bush (taking pain on the poor little finger on the ctrl key) they kill me.
If I launch rocks to distract them they kill me
If I try to outflanking them, THE WATER KILLS ME? (really, armor and health begin to decrease until I die...)
And if I try to simply reach that f***ing waypoint they kill me long before I do it. I spent three hours trying going past the third checkpoint, repeating the same tract in every way I could do it... And they continue to kill me. And I'm playing at medium.
Delta sector? Mmmmhhh... Gameplay Zero suits this mod well...
OK. Technically this mod is awesome. It's a true total conversion, very heavy indeed, much more than Far Cry, but there are a lot of things on screen. Unfortunately, where this mod lose is in the gameplay side: simply it's too hard. And not for player's fault. If you're in a wood, full of trees and branches and bushes and whatever you want: you cannot see the enemy even when it shoots repeatedly at you (Never missed my beloved binoculars as in this mod...), while it seems than you have a big neon on your head saying "HEY! I'M HERE!". Add the waypoint saving system of Far Cry: result is frustration. I hope all these issues will be corrected in future releases because the mod is very brilliant.
7 out of 10.
Did the system requirements change? Of course they did. But how much?
lol looks like your giving more sales to ubisoft, your there secret weapon.
God damn, I'm going to buy Far Cry again just to be able to play this.
