The Delta Sector is a modification for FarCry which will meet the highest quality expectations and will use the full capacity of the Cryengine 1. There will be new weapons, new vehicles and new enemies in this mod. You are a member of a special forces team. It's your job to check what's happening in eastern Europe, because many military forces accumulate in one area.

The final version of The Delta Sector modification for FarCry has been released. This mod features three singleplayer missions, a multiplayer mode and has dramatically improved graphics. The multiplayer mode got a completely new gameplay. It's much more action, excitement and fun.
The player is able to fight with 8 different weapons against soldiers, helicopters or aliens. Every single singleplayer mission got it's own completely unique design and environment.
Recently the new Patch 1.1 is avaible too. The Patch for the Delta Sector mod contains some Bugfixes and is improving the multiplayer mode. We added the FFA mode to all existing Delta Sector maps and added 2 completely new FFA/TDM maps. (called TDS_densewoods, CRYPACK_4)
The Assault mode is available in TDS now too. But at the moment there are no maps. So it would be appreciated, if some good modders take the time to create one. The shortcut to run the mod editor and all presets to create your own Delta Sector maps are included and can be found in the 'TheDeltaSector' directory.

An amazing modification i must say.
Graphics are simply awesome, though some textures need work, the weapons' textures lacked some detail. Like wooden grip of the AK. The rest was great. Foliage was great-looking. But, sadly, they are useless as cover. Save for the trees. :/
As for the sound, it's great too and helps to find position of the enemy units. Then again, at least in the first level it kind of 'hangs' in the air when you kill a soldier. (the AK firing sound keeps on playing after he's dead).
Gameplay-wise it was quite challenging, i died several times before beating a single level (medium difficulty). Then again, it felt a little linear when there isn't many ways to arrive at the checkpoint without dying at the 'hands' of the 'all-seeing chopper' or just getting your hp drained. Also, the foliage covered enemy soldiers well, but the problem is that they can see YOU [the player] through it, thus leaving Stealth out of the question. That makes you seek out and eliminate enemy before they do so with you.
Overall, this is an amazing mod, i see that a lot of effort was put in it. Few tweaks/fixes here and there (especially behaviour of NPCs detection-wise/make tall-medium grass shield the player from sight of NPCs), and it will be excellent.
[ 8/10 ]
P.S.: I'd like to request for a little more ways to get to checkpoints in later levels, should they still be in making. More space/freedom, so to speak. Feel free to dismiss the request though, as i know it's not easy to create :p
As stated by others, it is a technical marvel. Scenes are well done, plenty to explore. You can take different paths to achieve the next goal. New toys are fun; couple of types of sniper rifles, a silenced hand gun, alien gun.
Gameplay though is simply too tough. I don't mind dying; played Matteo 4 on realistic. The difference is I could see the enemy verse this mod that I couldn't. Too often you have no idea where they are and then BANG your dead and then you have to respawn from a very long save point to do it all over again. Rock throwing was ineffective and so was prone. Yes, if you can get up a cliff and snipe, that was effective on the ones you could see, yet there was always one or two lurking would get you.
Overall 8/10.
