Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.

Very nice though in this particular map I actually believe that the original Tib sun bridges might look better in it.

So you want to see 3D (2.5D) bridges on 2D terrain?

The only reason I could possibly see them saying that is because those bridges would fit the color palette of this map more since they are sort of white. Perhaps making a snowy variation of the bridge would be worth it.

That already is the snowy variation of the bridge. Take note of the spots of snow against the bricks.

Maybe the spots could be more prominent (or there could be more of them) though.

Oh woah, it is. Huh. I guess it just needs more snow. =P

To be honest the reason why I wrote that is because the fact of where it plays... In the middle of nowhere... There are no villages to be seen on the preview map screen yet you've got tons of huge bridges which would fit industrial purposes..

I always think 1 step further trying to determine whether the environment fits to object xzy and vice versa. By that I'm not trying to be a smart *** but I try to provide an accurate assessment of the situation in order to provide the best possible feedback for any modder here on moddb. Everybody can say "yes awesome" and most just do that. But that's not how I think and it's also not helpful either to the mod devs if you just say "nice".

On some mods my comments even get down rated let it be Star Trek Armada 3 for instance... Just for pointing out my opinion or giving some advice. At the end it remains to the devs whether they see some logic and liking in a comment or not. And not the fans or some angry sub devs which can't take criticism or recommendations for their favorite mods.. :)

Anyway to bring this to an end: How about some bridges in the same graphic pattern but thinner by 2 units instead or add some industry to that map to justify these huge bridges. At the end it doesn't matter of course considering this is just a skirmish and not a story map but this is my input to the screen at hand. :)

There's nothing wrong with criticism, as you said, it helps us make the mod better. You should've just explained better what you meant with "Tib sun bridges" because that can mean anything. At first I thought you wanted the map to have the TS paved road bridges, while that'd be very unfitting because the map is indeed set in the middle of nowhere (=> no paved roads).

Thinner bridges would be a very bad thing for gameplay, because large unit groups wouldn't be able to move quickly through them; they'd create bottlenecks that would be very easy to defend, making the map campy.

You could think of the ore mines as industry =P Jokes aside, I think wooden bridges would be more fitting for maps like this one to give a less industrial look, but we don't currently have wooden bridges and they'd be challenging to make and possibly not really worth the effort for a relatively small detail.

Ya I understand no problem. As for wooden bridges in general I would love seeing some in the near future. :D I could imagine it to look just lovely.

Perhaps something in this manner:

A nice reference image.
In the staff forum we had a few attempts at wooden bridges, but they didn't see a final state.
Here my attempt as example
Ppmforums.com

The main problems with them:
-they need to be multiple cells wide (to avoid units getting stuck) and still look good, while wooden bridges are usually rather small/thin and fragile looking bridges
-they would need to look good when used as 1 cell wide or multi-cell wide bridges
-it looks strange if a multi-ton heavy super tank like a mammoth moves over such a fragile looking bridge

I think on this map the bridges only look a bit out of place, since they are placed over clear ground in the middle of nature.
Maybe a few short river pieces and tiny lakes, giving the impression of frozen rivers could help. So it looks like the bridges are there for the summer time, when everything melts and huge rivers flow down these canyons.

Maybe it's time for some nice cool wooden bridges like in RA2 :) Cool map anyway! :D
