In 2011 a great war broke out, borders were crossed, the cities of the world flattened one by one. Few knew the reasons behind the madness, only following orders of superiors.

With the enemy right at its door, the United States government as we know it today, crumbled. Slowly but surely American soil fell into the control or hostiles. A group of Generals abandon their posts in the madness and in a last ditch effort to beat the bureaucracy which had betrayed them, they created Central, a corporation to help those in need and fight back the foreign invaders.

Central and its army of citizens armed with sheer will power and whatever firearms they could find, slowly dove back the opposing troops. A barricade was formed, after time attacks became less frequent and order was restored to the land. Rather than return to the old ways, it was the people’s choice to assign Central the role of running the country.

in this mod you play as Karl Hagens, a journalist who brought the news from the front lines during the great war, now settled down in Destination City, the home of Central’s head quarters, he works in the political division of the news paper “Central News”. While investigating a controversial topic Karl stumbles upon some damaging information, he and his editor, Mike, decide the best course of action would be to leave the secrets untold, for the sake of their safety and the stability of the country.

Unfortunately, for Karl and Mike, their offices are not as private as they would like to think. Central knows what they know and want to keep it quiet, by any means necessary…

Built on Source technology this Single Player adventure features several exiting chapters with new enemies, weapons and gameplay

To help make this mod something worth playing, we currently have all positions open , if you enjoy modding and, above all, are dedicated and enthusiastic, then sign up to the forums and post in the "Join Us" section. Remember to post examples of your previous work, no matter how big or small (because we recognise talent when we see it).

We dont ask you to spend your entire life working on the mod, it's nothing compulsary and we cant make you do anyhting, we mod because we want to and because we enjoy it.

All positions are open, if you want to lend a hand and get your work into the mod then go for it. Anything from prop modeling to Character modeling, No matter how many skills you have, we could allways use the extra hand.

Thanks for all your support.

I started work on the first level this morning, adding detail here and there, its looking good, and should be looking at completion soon. Sgtjman started programming this morning, and the mod is starting to take shape and allready features gizmos which are not included in half life 2.

I am hoping to make some new hands soon, though i have little modeling experience to work with. If your a modeler looking for a job, please apply, using 3ds max 7 and 8 is prefered.

Yea this mod is actually progressing more than some of you may think. I'm currently working on some city scenes (building mostly) and I should have an update soon. But we could really use a good modeler also. As for Christmas presents, I'm looking forward to an X850 and more memory so that should make me pretty usefull then as well. Expect map updates from me soon.

Your news item aroused a bit of interest in me for this Mod, but having read the sory summary I'm not so intrigued.

It's OK to write about current events, and in many ways inescapable as a writer, but I think this story relies too heavily on the perceived threat of terrorism. There's no way that Terrorism could bring about a country locking down, because that cripples its economy which harms a much greater number of people than Terrorist attacks.

The notion of a lockdown goes completely against China's political interests as a developing nation and future economic world power, so I have strong doubts that they would take such action, not to mention the fact that they are not the target of anti-capitalist attack, so wouldn't find themselves in such a position.

Similarly Russia does not rank high in the "Western states to victimise in order to cripple the capitalist ideal" list, so their involvement is also dubitable.

Then there's the USA, which could feasibly survive a lockdown if it was prepared for it, but this would probably involve a mass-culling of the population to get the numbers down to survivable limits.

---

I'd also warn against openly perpetuating the classification of the terrorists. Your PR man accepts that these Muslims represent a minority shunned by the majority for their acts of terrorism, but you haven't asked yourselves what effect your labelling will have on the perceptions of your game's playerbase. Do you need to mention that they are Muslims? Does doing this have any effect other than reinforcing the untruth that this is a religious war?

I prefer games that make the player think in order to progress in the game and, better still leave the player with bigger questions to ponder over. The basic scenario could achieve these elements but at the moment the specifics let it down, in my opinion.
