Blog RSS Feed Report abuse Latest News: OFFICIAL TRAILER RELEASE

19 comments by Archie_SnC on Dec 12th, 2013

We want to thank the phenomenal community of ModDB so much for helping us get this far - I am being completely sincere when I say that if it wasn't for your unparalleled support this mod simply would not exist. Getting into the top 100 mods of the year for two years running is simply unbelievable.

As the mod has grown in popularity, so too has the realisation that this mod has to be the best we can possibly make it. Expectations are running high and we are trying our absolute hardest to create the  gameplay experience you folks deserve for supporting us. It's for that reason that we don't actually have a download link to give you just yet, but we hope that this trailer will in some small way communicate our passion for this and let you forgive us for taking so long to release the mod.

With that in mind, here we have the first ever reveal of gameplay in The Core. You guys are amazing. Please vote for us in the Mod of the Year awards if you think we deserve it and have a god-damn fantastic day.

All the best,

Mod of the Year Awards

Quick question, what kind of wpoly r_speeds do you typically have in a scene? At first I was trying to keep mine down on Half-Life:Echoes to ~2000 but now I have just given in and allowed on average 3500-4000 on a large scene. Runs fine on the pcs I have tried but obviously some people are still on ancient things, just hoping not to alienate people! Having an idea what other mods are using might help :)

Averages around 3000, peaks at 7500 in one map.

Thanks for the reply, and that's very good to know! :)

By any chance is the peak on the tram tunnel map? :p

Actually no, it peaks at ~5000. It's the big central admin building from the trailer that tops 7000, but only if you stand at one corner and look right out across the whole map.
