We want to thank the phenomenal community of ModDB so much for helping us get this far - I am being completely sincere when I say that if it wasn't for your unparalleled support this mod simply would not exist. Getting into the top 100 mods of the year for two years running is simply unbelievable.

As the mod has grown in popularity, so too has the realisation that this mod has to be the best we can possibly make it. Expectations are running high and we are trying our absolute hardest to create the  gameplay experience you folks deserve for supporting us. It's for that reason that we don't actually have a download link to give you just yet, but we hope that this trailer will in some small way communicate our passion for this and let you forgive us for taking so long to release the mod.

With that in mind, here we have the first ever reveal of gameplay in The Core. You guys are amazing. Please vote for us in the Mod of the Year awards if you think we deserve it and have a god-damn fantastic day.

All the best,

Mod of the Year Awards

Unfortunately, a lot of the models we use are by third party developers and it would take a long time to seek out and get permission from each contributor. On the other hand we could replace the models with our own, but this again would take more time. For now at least this will only be available through download sites.

Why enyone need this greenlight? steam is anal-enslaving DRM bloatware which is spying on users. it is better to minimize its using -- for single player mod you only need it to buy half-life. thats all.

Yeah, buy Half-Life... on Steam. We are making no guarantees that this will work in anything other than Steam HL.

I couldn't disagree more. Do some research and perhaps watch some of the Steam Dev Days conference. They genuinely work with their customers as the highest priority and not many companies can boast that. What's more, when they talk about it, they aren't even boasting. They're almost pleading with other companies to follow their model - they're INVITING competition - just so that the end user will have a better experience.
Your problem with Steam is the problem people had with it 10 years ago. Get over it.
I don't think we need Greenlight, but pretending Steam is some evil spyware is just nonsense.
