Blog RSS Feed Report abuse Latest News: The Bank Holiday Update

2 comments by Urby on May 6th, 2013

So with the bank holiday weekend comes an extra day where Archie and I are able to work well into the wee hours of the morning on The Core and as such the mod is moving forward at a steady pace.

The dormitories section is coming along nicely and I'm having a lot of fun with the gameplay in this section. Where the later chapters of Half-Life show the intense skirmish going on between the marines and the Xen forces on the surface, The Core also features heavy three way battles but in a tighter, close quarters scenario deep underground.

Archie is also making some fantastic progress with the labs. With the grunts making one last push into the facility from the surface, they are fortifying their positions with turrets and barriers. Xen creatures lie dead alongside Black Mesa employees as the government tightens it's grip on the upper levels of the complex.

I hope you are enjoying the media and as always we appreciate your feedback.

All the best,
Urby

I'm curious about this mod...
Will this mod eat decent amount of memory?
Does this mod require a good video card or it require the same as standart half-life?

We are still working hard on it and I see no reason why it should not be out this year. As soon as we have a more specific date, we'll let you know. :D

From a high ranking engineer to a low level engineer, interesting.

The events of The Core occur after Andrews has only been employed in the facility for a short while.

Playing as a high ranking staff member with top level access would remove the challenge of getting around the high security areas of the central complex.

He must have lied on his Black Mesa application form. Appropriate reprimanding action will be taken.
