The Core T-shirt

Unfortunately due to Urby's new job / new baby / new house, we've had to postpone releasing the actual Q&A video, but it shouldn't take too much longer. I keep telling him that The Core is more important than his infant child, but the fool seems to think otherwise. I'll keep pestering him, but in the meantime thankyou so much for all your brilliant questions; there are so many more than we expected!

Picking the winner wasn't easy, either. In the end it was extremely close between JeffMOD, TheSkunk & flippedoutkyrii. JeffMOD won it because we think it prompted the most interesting answers!

Not to worry, though! There will be more competitions in the near future, not to mention the actual mod's release!

If you're dying to show your support and get your hands on a shirt before the next competition, gimme a private message for a special order. Because we're not buying in bulk, shirts cost £25 including post and packaging.

Sorry to keep you waiting!

Witch version of spirit of half life do you use. If not at all?

I started out on 1.4 back in 2008, then we upgraded to 1.8 when the team started to grow. Since then, we've modified the engine quite a bit so it's essentially a custom spirit version now.

Model was edited with Milkshape 3D and Photoshop. Original model came from Ambient.Impact and his old site with models is here:

As long as you give credit you should be fine. If you're not sure, contact Ambient Impact himself on his new site.

Quick question, is any consideration being made for speedrunners? One of the things that keeps Half Life still active today (aside from mods), is the speedrunning community. So will The Core be something that you can do that in, or is it trying to remain locked down and glitch (out of bounds, skips, etc.) free?

Hi Toasty, we're not making any special considerations to speed runners, so there will definitely be exploits to be found. That said, we're not deliberately adding any skips, so you'll have to get creative! :)

The mod originally featured an edited Kate / Barniel model but it was ultimately cut.

She simply was never used. Technically I guess she was replaced by the alternative skins for the male guard.
