Several sites featured our news article as thousands of Internet goers shared and retweeted. Reactions were mixed of course. For every person saying that the GoldSource engine still held up today, another would ask "What's the point?"

We have voiced our opinions on the GoldSource engine before in our Q&A videos. It's a part of gaming history, it's classic, it's clunky, it's frustrating, it's... lovable. The sheer number of projects both long running and new on this now 16 year old engine just goes to show that several people still have a special place in their heart for what is essentially a finely mangled Quake engine. :D

We don't expect to get anywhere near as many votes as last year, but we appreciate all the support we get from our followers and if you feel we're still worthy.

bullets and medkits in the breakable crates is bad idea.
how is it in "the Core"?
be ammo with medkits in crates?

We generally frown upon crates that just explode when whacked with a blunt object so there will be very few instances of supplies in crates. Ammo can be found in military crates that have been left open, but don't expect them to be that careless very often.

Quick answer: The skill.cfg has been edited a lot, but the original NPC and weapon values haven't been touched. :)

What I've seen so far, has a nice resemblance of the Black Mesa Source Mod. I'll have to agree, some of those lightmaps are very sexy!

Tee hee.. it's funny because HL doesn't use lightmapping, these guys are just THAT good with lighting in the maps ;)

There's some texture scaling involved as well, which gives sharper shadows because GoldSrc is weird like that.
