The Core is a total conversion single-player mod for Half-Life. Survive the disaster as Maurice Andrews, a low level engineer stationed in Black Mesa during the events of the resonance cascade. Seemingly trapped, Andrews must fight his way to the surface to survive.

I wonder if my comment will be read by the developer... Anyway, I hope the ammo for the M4 would be different from the Pistol. 'Cause in my current Half Life, the MP5's model was changed to an M4, but it still sprays 9mm rounds at 50 per clip too. Is that really the ammo used by US Marines? That's what I was thinking.

The m4a1 rifles used by the HECU in The Core are using 9mm rounds. They originally used the m16 but this was changed as the m4a1 carbine is more suited for indoor close quarters combat. Since the m4a1 can utilise 9mm magazines, we decided against having more coding work done to change this.

The M4A1 can't use 9mm magazines, that's the colt 9mm sub machine gun.
