The Citizen is set parallel to the events of the original Half-Life 2. The player takes the role of an ordinary man, pushed over the edge by the oppressive regime controlling his life. His home trashed, his family dead, The Citizen leaves his apartment for the last time. He seeks new friends, and a way to help the human resistance to smash the iron grip of the Combine. What follows is a winding tale of betrayal, determination and grief. Many obstacles lie in his path which require a sleek combination of agility, stealth, intelligence, and sheer violence to overcome.
Originally released in November 2007 and re-released in February 2008, this singleplayer episode is still in the making, and 3 more chapters will be added to the two existing ones.

This is in my handful of mods that I consider what should have been part of HL2; gameplay wise or story wise. Nice job!
I can't get it to show up in steam either which is a pitty. This mod looks great.
All you should need to do is copy the folder called "The Citizen" from inside the download into your SourceMods folder.
If you've got any other mods installed, this will be the same place that they are located too.
Then restart Steam.
Unless there was something actually wrong with the download you got, then that should be all you need to do...
Downloaded twice from two mirrors, installed and deleted about 5 times to the SourceMods folder and still not found by steam.
Sorry - I'm not sure what is going wrong for you. The mod itself definately works, so something else must be wrong somewhere.

Do i need the full version of HL2 for this to work? I have the HL2 episode pack with ep1/2 and dm and the source sdk installed. Along with the mods Zombie Panic and Zombie Master.
I'm going to guess this is the problem.. and see if i can find someone with the orange box and a spare code for HL2 PC.. I own HL2 for xbox only..
Ah yes. That is most likely the problem. You need the original HL2 to play this mod.
Hey umm, the game isnt showing up in steam, ive read whats in the read me, can anyone help here? i reali wana play this.
Did you restart Steam after putting the 'The Citizen' folder inside your 'Sourcemods' folder? There's not much else to do to install it.
